A Harry Potter Sequel?

J.K Rowling's We wish! Unfortunately, J.K. Rowling has tucked the wizards, wands and brooms away with her newest, and first ever, novel written for adults. But let’s not focus on the fact that Harry and his crew won’t be making a comeback any time soon and talk about the exciting news that J. K.’s first book since writing a little-known series called Harry Potter that didn’t pick up much steam creating to the most popular franchise of young adult novels this galaxy has ever seen will be released in T-minus 6 days.

The short (and kind of boring) of it is that The Casual Vacancy is a tale of small-town politics—but rumor has it she’s got another hit on her hands. Rowling’s publisher thinks the “blackly comic” novel is bound for greatness. It’s promised to be Dickens-esque, full of humanity, humor, social concerns, and intensely real characters. Talk about some Great Expectations.

The audio book will be narrated by the fabulous British actor Tom Hollander and while he has big shoes to fill (Harry Potter fans know that Jim Dale will be tough to beat) but we’re sure he’s up to the challenge.

The Casual Vacancy hits our library September 27 and guess what? We’ve added a new feature that’ll let you be one of the first to listen. Click here to sign up to be emailed as soon as The Casual Vacancy hits our library.
