Summary
Dr. Watson chronicles here some of the more interesting detective cases that he and his good friend, Mr. Sherlock Holmes, have encountered during their association. We see the cases unfold as he does, scratch our heads as does he while the evidence is collected, and then marvel at the impeccable observations, remarkable insight, and doggedness which Holmes displays as he teases apart the tangled clues.

Packaged as twelve distinct cases, by the end of this book your own senses of observation and deductive reasoning should be improved. It's easy to see why this book became a model for detective yarns!

Obviously the content of this book is great, as it is Sherlock Holmes. However, the narrator also did a wonderful job in reading the story. He provided different voices for the different characters making the story easier to follow, as well as having a good voice. This title is worth downloading and listening to. Enjoy.

great book. no wonder the author is so celebrated . the narrator puts a lot of effort into his reading, top marks to him although the American accent does slightly disapoint.

excellent audio book - could have benefited from being narrated by an Englishman

Beautifully narrated and pleasant to listen to. However, I was sometimes distracted by the American narrator's pronunciation of the names of places and people incuding that of the book's author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Good short stories but didn't expect it to be all over the place like that with no central storyline. The reader did a decent job but there were some words that he pronounced wrong and it annoyed me every time he said them.

Great writing and fascinating characters especially Holmes himself. Narrator Mark Smith is very good but would be even better if he were able to use an English accent since all the characters are from England.

Enjoyed every one of the stories. I agree with other reviews in that a British accent narration would have made this even better.

The narrator is so good. I was lost in the stories. I could listen to him read me stories all day. I love Sherlock but the narration can make or break an audiobook and this was top notch.

I really enjoyed this book. Who isn't a fan of Sherlock Holmes? It was great having 12 different stories. The narrator was excellent.

I had to stop listening because the narration was so robotic and monotone that I couldn't even focus on what is a phenomenal text

Classic of English literature. Impossible not to award 5 stars. The narrator was also excellent. Tripped up slightly on the pronunciation of a couple of the London locations, but that’s just local knowledge. The cadence & rhythm of the narration was perfect.

Sadly ,yet once again the reader has not learned how to pronounce English towns cities and areas. Otherwise we’ll read.

While the stories were great the narrator was down right horrifying bad. I dont think there was a worse english accent around, along with the inability to use different voice for all the characters. This made the book unlistenable.

Great stories, really enjoyed them. Clear narration but always a shame when American voices are unable to pronounce the names of places in the stories...Streatham, Grosvenor Place being two. Also, the narrator’s inability to pronounce any French words correctly which makes it hard to understand the story until you manage to get your head around what he’s trying to say! Sherlock Holmes really should be voiced by an Englishman but hey ho, I loved the stories!

I liked it but the narraratir didn’t do much for me. He read fairly slow and didn’t use much expression. Not the best narrarator
