Boring narrator. Couldn't listen for more than 5 minutes.

Alexander the Great is a fascinating subject. This book does not do him justice, in my mind, because no dates are provided to clarify the period of his short reign. The narrator is adequate but not outstanding. This said, it is worthy read. I came away knowing more than when I started.

Narrator's sing-song voice was distracting and annoying. Book is worth listening to, however.

I’ve never read or listen to the story of Anthony the great so I thoroughly enjoyed it and I enjoyed the narrator also. She has a gift of reading it in such a way that I felt like I was there. Period it’s like I could see the blood in the gore with my own eyes And the shame and the dismay on the faces of his officers. The narrator has a gift and I hope that this is not the only title that she has read.

The readers’ upward tone at the end of nearly each phrase or sentence is extremely distracting. Sorry, but that may very well be the manner in which her speech was acquired. As a native of the USA, I could only listen to this type of speaking for a handful of minutes.

The book would have been a great read but I couldn’t stand the awful narration

To tell the history of a Hellenic the writer must be a Hellenic , I don’t use the word Greek that was purely an Italian invention to create their virus on of history while we were fighting for our freedom against the Ottoman Empire . A Hellenic is different especially to other people’s mentally and an Anglo can’t really make accurate opinions of what is transpiring in the Hellenic mind so explaining what Alexander thought and felt thousands of years later should not have been part of a historical story

Book was an interesting read and I liked being able to listen and access various historical maps to follow Alexander’s travels and engagements. Unfortunately, the narration was very distracting and there were more than just a few times when I was ready to stop listening and find another biography on him. Driver’s voice was clear, but she obviously likes to ignore the rules of punctuation. I would avoid her whenever there’s an alternative.
