Unabridged Audiobook
Robert Fulghum is my favorite author. His view puts reality into perspective with a sense of humor unmatched. I chose this audiobook to hear his voice; like a warm hug.
This was the best book out of my summer reading assignment. The narrator is indeed a bit mundane but, if you put the speed up to X1.25 it's bearable.
This book is a collection of short stories about life, there are no specific fact or figures or data. It’s a good review of some basic and important life lessons, so it’s worth reading. But it’s very “folksy†and written from the point of view of an ex-preacher. His voice can be soothing at times, but a little – what’s the word, maybe patronizing? – at times.
This would have been easier to listen to if the author/narrator didn't sound half asleep all the time. some of it was amusing and interesting. Not my favorite book.
It seemed kind of slow at first, maybe even boring. When I really started to listen and give the stories a chance, I found it touches your heart and reminds you of the little things in life that really do remind you of love. And therefore matter. I found the stories insightful, positive and uplifting. Inspiring hope and sincerity into my life. While depressed and self centered, I found that relating to other peoples life events is human and love. Opening my mind and inviting love, I am glad I picked up this audiobook. Thank you.
This audio book is just plain great! heartwarming...delightful....hopeful I agree 100% all we really need to know was for most of us taught in kindergarten.....NOW I realize why I missed and cherished that time in my life like no other
I loved the book and the reader. I would recommend this to anyone, and would listen to it again sometime! This is a classic.
This one didn't do it for me. The author seems like a really nice person, and he had some very cute little stories, but I really didn't see any point to most of them. Maybe I'm just too shallow!
The narrator is a drone--I didn't last 5 mins with the monotonous cadence and boring narration.
Waste of Time. read in a monotone voice. This may have been a good book a long time a go but please.
I absolutely loved this book. The narrator's voice was soothing, NOT boring. He told the stories with great zest and comedy. I highly recommend the book to anyone and everyone.
I agree with the other reader - I couldn't finish this book (never got beyond the first cd in fact) because the reader's voice was so monotone and slow! Perhaps the content was there - I just couldn't hear it!
I would give this book a zero if I could. It's so boring. Let's all be fair and nice was the theme. He is so monotone and void of energy. This is the only book I didn't listen to the whole thing. I couldn't because it was so painful.
I was upset when I learned there were "changes" in this version of Kindergarten. But my disappointment quickly faded into jubiliation at two basic premises. One, and it is by far the most important, is Fulghum's reading. Man-o-man, worth the price of the rental to hear him read this stories in that grandfatherly way. WOW! Second however, was the changes themselves. He helped me understand something about change in thinking about these changes. I have read all Fulghum's essay books, this one is best. I will be asking for a hardcopy for Christmas! GREAT!
I really loved his attitude and honesty in this book. It gave me a nice perspective to start my day with on my drive to work. His speech is very slow which was a little annoying at times, however I do not feel it took away from the book.
This was a pretty good book, but don't listen while you are driving because he has a really soothing and relaxing voice.
Excellent reading. Fulghum sees life as a journey, and it’s his perspective that helps you, the reader, enjoy the ride. This book was great, funny and touching at times. Definitely the best storyteller I’ve ever heard!
i loved this audio. his voice was soothing and ideas were simple.
I loved this book! Robert Fulghum is witty, and sarcastic with in your face truths. I found myself laughing out load in my car. Great listen.
Cute stories addressing how to get the author got the most pleasure out of the little things in life. I strongly recommend this book.
Very good content, I'd recommend this. Pace is a bit too slow for my liking, yet still I'd recommend.
His voice is very soothing. I loved the stories. Some of which I could relate to. This book made me really think of my priorities. A must read.
A really enjoyable listen, although since I listen in the car. I often had to take breaks from it because his soothing voice was lulling me to sleep!
Robert Fulghum, tell stories that will make you laugh, think and remind you of your childhood. Fulghum has a voice of a grandfather, very soothing. You will love this audio book.
Robert Fulghum made me laugh, cry, and think a lot about my priorities. His book of essays is funny, witty, and touched with the wisdom that only comes with experience. As the author states, the book is best enjoyed in parts. My wife, who does not enjoy audio books, and I listened together. We spent quality time listening to and discussing Mr. Fulghams thoughts on life, death, religion, and many other topics
