Summary
#1 New York Times bestselling author Ilona Andrews launches a brand-new Hidden Legacy series, in which one woman must place her trust in a seductive, dangerous man who sets off an even more dangerous desire . . .

Nevada Baylor is faced with the most challenging case of her detective career—a suicide mission to bring in a suspect in a volatile situation. Nevada isn't sure she has the chops. Her quarry is a Prime, the highest rank of magic user, who can set anyone and anything on fire.

Then she's kidnapped by Connor "Mad" Rogan—a darkly tempting billionaire with equally devastating powers. Torn between wanting to run and wanting to surrender to their overwhelming attraction, Nevada must join forces with Rogan to stay alive.

Rogan's after the same target, so he needs Nevada. But she's getting under his skin, making him care about someone other than himself for a change. And, as Rogan has learned, love can be as perilous as death, especially in the magic world.

I absolutely love all Ilona Andrews books and her style of writing, there's not one I haven't liked. It's just a shame they don't have more of her books on here especially when most of her books are generally series. This book gets a massive thumbs up from me love the narrator she tends to use the same person which I quite like.

I have really, really, really enjoyed all of Ilona Andrews books so far. The worlds that are created are so unique and atypical of the usual magical world fashioned by other authors. You easily fall in love with the characters and become consumed with their adventures. But the first book of the Hidden Legacy series is by far my favorite. This book was so good, I literally couldn't put it down (or in my case stop listening). Normally I listen to books in my car to and from work while stuck in traffic. At work I listen to music and stuff. But this book had me so enthralled, I listened to it from the moment I woke up to start my day, in the car on the way to work, at work all day, in the car on the way home, and at home until I was finished. I literally listened to the entire book straight through in pretty much one "sitting". Not only are the main characters more lovable, but I can relate to them more. This working, "low-class" girl trying to take care of her family just hits real close to home and makes the story much more genuine and personable. Grandma is my favorite. The way she is thrown into the scene at random and unexpected moments with her priceless comments adds so much humor to this book. I didn't really see much humor present in the other books. All of Ilona Andrews books have some humor. But this book had laugh-out-loud unforgettable humor. Lastly, I don't really understand or know what it is about the passion between Nevada and Connor that makes their relationship so enticing, but their relationship (or lack thereof) is addicting and I cannot wait to see how it unfolds. My only regret with this book is not waiting until the sequels were out already before reading the first. Because now the anticipation of the next book is going to drive me crazy.
