Summary
A Dog’s Purpose—the #1 New York Times bestseller and major motion picture—is a perfect gift to introduce dog lovers to this wonderful series.

Based on the beloved bestselling novel by W. Bruce Cameron, A Dog’s Purpose, from director Lasse Hallström (The Cider House Rules, Dear John, The 100-Foot Journey), shares the soulful and surprising story of one devoted dog (voiced by Josh Gad) who finds the meaning of his own existence through the lives of the humans he teaches to laugh and love.

The family film told from the dog’s perspective also stars Britt Robertson, KJ Apa, John Ortiz, Peggy Lipton, Juliet Rylance, Luke Kirby, Pooch Hall and Dennis Quaid. A Dog’s Purpose is produced by Gavin Polone (Zombieland, TV’s Gilmore Girls). The film from Amblin Entertainment and Walden Media will be distributed by Universal Pictures. Screenplay by W. Bruce Cameron & Cathryn Michon and Audrey Wells and Maya Forbes & Wally Wolodarsky.

Heartwarming, insightful, and often laugh-out-loud funny, A Dog's Purpose is not only the emotional and hilarious story of a dog's many lives, but also a dog's-eye commentary on human relationships and the unbreakable bonds between man and man's best friend. This moving and beautifully crafted story teaches us that love never dies, that our true friends are always with us, and that every creature on earth is born with a purpose.

Bailey's story continues in A Dog's Journey, the charming New York Times and USA Today bestselling direct sequel to A Dog's Purpose.

I really enjoyed this beautiful little tale. Anyone who’s felt the love of a dog....theirs, their neighbors, relatives, etc couldn’t help but love this book. PS I ‘m a 69 year old man, and I admit to tearing up a few times....and smiling at the end!

This book is so lovable! An incredible narrator adds so much to the story! I listen to lots and lots of audio books, a bad narrator can make my favorite book almost intolerable to listen to. You really feel like you're listening to a dog talk and his enthusiasm is infectious! I've listened to this book multiple times and highly recommend it! Especially to anyone who loves dogs!

Don't we all wonder what our purpose is? I loved hearing life from a dog's perspective with all of the trials and tribulations. It hit all of my emotions.

If you're more of a dog person than a people person, you will love this book. It tugs at your heart strings a bit, but, it is a great listen.

An excellent audiobook. As having dogs in the past, it was very easy to picture what was going on in their head. Smiles, laughter and tears were all part of the experience. Looking forward now to the movie.

This is The best audiobook I have heard yet. The narrator is excellent with his various characters, and the book itself is extremely moving. I listened to it and cried, then I listen to it again and cried the same amount.

We have 4 dogs, and this book was outstanding in its characterization of each of the dogs. I really related to both the humans and the dogs. Very enjoyable! The narrator was outstanding!

Such a meaning experience. Of course, I love dogs. I choose to believe this happens, and am supported in that belief by This novel much ad I was by Dean Koontz' book about his dog Trixie. I had a little long bodied, short legged dog named Babe.for fifteen years. She developed a melanoma in her mouth. In the last days of her purposeful life she would have when I got home from work a few spots of blood from her mouth smeared on her side. I cleaned it off as long as she could have some joy in her life. When I had to take her to the room with the steel table o held her on my chest and said her name and told her I loved her. One day as tribute to her I walked through cages in the Petsmart adoption center I looked up and there was a carbon copy of Babe. The only difference is this Babe in another life who I adopted and named Brigitte had on the side where the blood spots accumulated during the day spots of slightly darker yellow for which I have always called her stigmata. Babe sent Brigitte to do her job. Anyone who has ever loved and appreciated a dog must read or listen to this book. I have A DOG'S JOURNEY In my Audiobooks library to listen to next. Thank you Bruce Cameron for a poignant experience. Judy Flournoy, a Yuma, AZ.

I listened to this book 3 days after putting down my 3.5 year old lab Riley. He had a massive splenic tumor that was cancerous and causing him much pain. This book series, let me bawl l I'll ke a baby and give me hope. I'm not sure I believe in reincarnation but it does give me hope that I might meet my beautful good boy again on earth. I miss him so very much. Also I know there will be another dog in our future... maybe now sooner than later.
