Lost and alone in a forbidden forest, Otto meets three mysterious sisters and suddenly finds himself entwined in a puzzling quest involving a prophecy, a promise, and a harmonica.Decades later, Friedrich in Germany, Mike in Pennsylvania, and Ivy in California each, in turn, become interwoven when the very same harmonica lands in their lives. All the children face daunting challenges: rescuing a father, protecting a brother, holding a family together. And ultimately, pulled by the invisible thread of destiny, their suspenseful solo stories converge in an orchestral crescendo.Richly imagined and masterfully crafted, Echo pushes the boundaries of genre, form, and storytelling innovation to create a wholly original novel that will resound in your heart long after the last note has been struck.

I read this book and loved it, but listening to it with my 6th grade students was an extraordinary experience. The music featured in the characters' stories was performed so beautifully. My students and I were entertained by the harmonica, swept up by the orchestra, and sometimes moved to tears. I felt this audio version allowed my students access to an experience they never would have received had I just provided my own read aloud. This performance of Echo has opened up new worlds of music, compassion, and inspiration to my kids. Thank you!

Interesting and enjoyable how the author frames the lives of 4 stories of 4 characters with each coming together in the end. The ending could have been weaved into a better pattern and ended so abruptly.

An absolute must listen. My 11 year old daughter couldn’t stop listening nor could I.

This was an excellent story for an audiobook! I think I enjoyed it more this way than if I'd read the words on pages instead. Sometimes having a little music on an audiobook seems cheesy, but in this case, it definitely enhanced the experience. Feeling connected to the characters was easy. Wondering about their fates, and seeing how it all fit together in the end, made for an enthralling and satisfying tale. "Echo" tugged at my heart and left me feeling inspired and optimistic.

Each story is told with a passion that draws you in emotionally. I was able to envision each character - I was happy when they were happy and sad when they were sad. Good Job!
