Summary
Read the #1 New York Times bestselling thriller Invisible, then continue the series with Unsolved.
Everyone thinks Emmy Dockery is crazy. Obsessed with finding the link between hundreds of unsolved cases, Emmy has taken leave from her job as an FBI researcher. Now all she has are the newspaper clippings that wallpaper her bedroom, and her recurring nightmares of an all-consuming fire.

Not even Emmy's ex-boyfriend, field agent Harrison 'Books' Bookman, will believe her that hundreds of kidnappings, rapes, and murders are all connected. That is, until Emmy finds a piece of evidence he can't afford to ignore. More murders are reported by the day--and they're all inexplicable. No motives, no murder weapons, no suspects. Could one person really be responsible for these unthinkable crimes?

INVISIBLE is James Patterson's scariest, most chilling thriller yet.

It takes quite awhile to even begin to get going. chapter 22 is where you may begin to enjoy the book. If I figured out if I could and how I could return this book before I reached chapter 22 I would have stopped listening and returned it. Unfortunately the narrators are the worst part of this audiobook. The woman sounds too glib and I don't know annoying. The so called Killer sounds like a cross between the actor Nathan Lane and a homicidal Frasier Crane. I am not a homophobe but unless Patterson wanted the killer to be a flamboyant gay man, the wrong voice actor was chosen. Personally I'd rather of had one main narrator who didn't try to affect too much of any type of personality. I have no idea how they choose the narrators but they should really try harder. My criticism of the narration is not the only thing I have a problem with. The writing in the majority of the first 21 chapters is mediocre and somewhat ham-handed!! If you can wait it out it gets better. It is a cool enough concept and hopefully that is enough!

Like other reviews of this book, it starts very slow and you must stick with it thru several chapters.

I am 2 hours into the book and it's boring. I feel like nothing has happened. I wouldn't waist a credit on it if I were you. The ending might be good but I feel like I'm waisting my time with the beginning.

My parents were listening to this on a recent road trip. Normally I just tune out their audiobooks, but this one got my attention. Firstly, b/c I found the protagonist annoying haha (as others have said). But even though she was pretty annoying throughout, at least she was consistent, so I just learned to think "that's just her personality." For the content of the story, I thought it was interesting and grabs your attention. There were some plot holes, but nothing too glaring. It kept me guessing throughout most. I agree with others though that the gruesome details were not necessary. I just tuned out during those segments. I wish they'd explained better the ending. It needed at least 1 or 2 more chapters. As for the audiobook quality, I thought the production value was good. Some say the music is too loud, but I didn't notice it. The voice actors did a great job. Something about the voice acting gave away the ending too early though. Anyways, I found the Graham session part the most interesting. I think if the protagonist had been more likable, I would've liked those segments as well. Overall though, it was entertaining, and that's what a book's all about anyway, right?

Great book! Starts off slow but a book like this HAS to... to build up the characters’ and get a feel for them and how they think. The ending had a great twist and I’m on to the second book!!!
