Little Bee

Good book. It's sad but real. This is the sort of thing you read about in the newspapers or watch on CNN as a passing headline. It was a good awareness and wake me up to reality type of book.

This is a very good book illustrating the issues that are often ignored by society at large about the atrocities in Africa and the lack of action by "neutral" governments. It is very deep with lots of psychological subtlety. It is not easy to listen to, but was deeply moving and scary in its reality.

I have no idea if the book itself was any good since I just could not past the narrator's drone. She sounds like a robot. I have listened to some bad narration, but this is the only one I could not deal with. What was the publisher thinking?

I listened to 3 of the 9 CDs before I gave up. I just got tired of death and suicide talk. If she didn't commit it by the end of the book I'd be surprised.
