Summary
Orley Farm is Trollope at his best (as good as the Barsetshire series), which means some of the best characterizations in the English language. Trollope's people are real; the beleaguered Lady Mason, charged with forging a will; the aged lover Sir Peregrine Orme; Madeleine Stavely, deeply but practically in love; the shallow, fickle Sophia Furnival and others are 3-dimensional figures that live and breathe. His satire of the so-called "justice" system is the best kind of satire: he just describes the court proceedings as they really are. The result is as up-to-date as today's newspaper. Narrator made the book come to life. However I don’t have anything good to say about the book.

This was one of the best ones I’ve read & the narrator is excellent. The beginning was a bit confusing with so many characters but it kept my attention right to the end. Great job.

A huge task for a lengthy book. The narrator does well, though some character’s voices are not easy to listen to.

The narrator makes this book interesting. He did a great job. Overall, I liked it very much though it lags a bit with all of the descriptions and keeping track of the characters was a little confusing. Despite that, I didn’t want to miss a word snd I found the story very interesting. As a liberated woman, I cannot imagine being ruled by a husband and being so concerned as to the opinion of others that it would destroy one. Glad I live now!

Even though the story line was intense almost without relief, Leonard Wilson performed the reading so well that I was immediately drawn into the characters and the plot. Well done!

Over 32 hours was a little daunting, but didn't take long to get into the story and the characters. The narrator did a perfect job and kept the interest going.
