Summary
Where there’s smoke there’s fire, and no one knows this better than New Jersey bounty hunter Stephanie Plum.

Dead bodies are showing up in shallow graves on the empty construction lot of Vincent Plum Bail Bonds. No one is sure who the killer is, or why the victims have been offed, but what is clear is that Stephanie’s name is on the killer’s list.

Short on time to find evidence proving the killer’s identity, Stephanie faces further complications when her family and friends decide that it’s time for her to choose between her longtime off-again-on-again boyfriend, Trenton cop Joe Morelli, and the bad boy in her life, security expert Ranger. Stephanie’s mom is encouraging Stephanie to dump them both and choose a former high school football star who’s just returned to town. Stephanie’s sidekick, Lula, is encouraging Stephanie to have a red-hot boudoir “bake-off.” And Grandma Bella, Morelli’s old-world grandmother, is encouraging Stephanie to move to a new state when she puts “the eye” on Stephanie.

With a cold-blooded killer after her, a handful of hot men, and a capture list that includes a dancing bear and a senior citizen vampire, Stephanie’s life looks like it’s about to go up in smoke.

The hardcover edition of Smokin’ Seventeen contains two smokin’ hot stickers inside!

I started reading these books when the series started and already loved them when I changed to listening to them instead through Simply Audiobooks. i may restart the series because the narrator is AMAZING! She changes her voice for each character without missing a beat. She keeps me laughing the entire time! Such fun!

Love the series. Good, easy listening and down right laugh out loud funny lines. I think the narrator is funny and adds to the overall experience. This series was recommended to me a long time ago and was thrilled when I found them here. Highly recommended for young adults and older who are interested in a light-hearted story with some comedy blended in.

I've been following Stephanie Plum through all 17 books so far and it's like comfort food. She's become an old friend that I enjoy visiting once or twice a year.

Something a little different here. Stephanie actually discusses her relationships, and they seem to be getting physical. I listen to them in order, when they come out, but I feel like I missed something with Vinnie and the Bail Bonds that left them in their current predicament. I think it left a lot of opportunities to give the story a nudge in a different direction... though I don't know what. I do wonder what possible things she could get involved in. I enjoyed it.
