I love Stephen King books, but I was not aware that this was simply a short story. It was pretty good, but predictable.

As a runner, I found this novella about a woman who listens to her body and intuition incredibly empowering. I thoroughly enjoyed the terse narration and was appropriately creeped out by the dialogue. It's nice to have a shorter listen.

This was the first time I listened to a "book on tape" and I must say I enjoyed it very much. I listened to it in the car on the commute to work. It was especially suspenseful driving home in the dark while listening to this thrilling tale. I definitely recommend it.

I rated this as four stars, however, it was only because I thought that the book was a little too short however it was quite interesting and actually kept me on the edge till the very end.

Worth renting, if you like stephen king. But his best is the Gunslinger series

I've been dissappointed in King's recent works (Buick, Tom Gordon, Colorado Kid), but Gingerbread Girl was short enough to establish plot, characters, and tension without causing me to lose interest. A good use of two hours!

At a little more than 2 hours, this story is the light salad of audiobooks. It's not an epic tale, nor does it go far beyond your expectations. However it does satisfy in its own way, great for a quiet evening between longer books or on an airplane. King's narrative is solid and easier to follow than some of his tougher books. The narration and production are also good, with Mare Winningham's voice work clear and emotional.

This wasn't as good as some of his other stories. King may not be high culture but he's almost always a good read. (Let's face it, if you listen to books while you drive like I do, you don't want to have to put too much of your brain into the story.) I didn't emphasize with the main character. The book is also very short.

In typical fashion Stephen Kings hits you with a twist just as you think the book is going one way, it shifts to another. I enjoyed this book, it was very human and did not try to provide any nice conclusions to the life of a woman who experienced great loss.
