This is the BEST audiobook I've ever listened to! Even if you've read the book, you have to listen to this. It is so well done. I've listened to at least one hundred audiobooks and my bar is set high for narrators. The wrong one can ruin a book and the right one elevates it. She's hilarious and I want to be her friend even more after listening to this. She's so honest and funny. I love how she has her friends and family in this. It was very well done. Extremely entertaining. Please do yourself a favor and listen to this now!

This book is hilarious, inspiring and uplifting. The best part is that Amy Poehler narrates, which makes you feel like she's your new best friend, just sitting next you on your road trip, telling you all her stories.

The thread throughout the book is a little hard to find, but Amys natural charm and funny bones brings it on home. All in all a good time.

Dire. What was the point of this book? Was it satirical and I missed it? Has about seven endings, none of which came soon enough.

I loved it! She really told a beautiful story of her life I enjoyed it it was funny It was insightful. She included a lot of things that most celebrities probably would not admit. I love that she was honest and real and the language, all the naughty language, I loved it. I didn't want it to end.

Amy is funny, poignant, honest, and thoughtful provoking. She was able to make me laugh out loud, cry, feel joy and sorrow all with the span of a few words. I loved this book and hope she writes (and reads) more. 100% pure enjoyment.

Great book! Funny, heartwarming and totally relatable!! Have listened to many chapters over and over again because Amy Poehler’s voice is so calming and familiar but still interesting enough that I didn’t fall asleep! You just feel like you’re listening to an old friend telling the tales of their lives before you met.❤️

Hilarious and genuine and as an avid SNL fan thoroughly enjoyable. Her narration just takes everything to the next level. Definitely worth listening to.

While there were some words of wisdom and lessons you could take away from this, and her narrating was super relaxing and calming, it definitely felt like a book for someone who's more interested in the career aspect of biographies. I'm not into SNL like, at all, so whenever she was talking about SNL, or anything that had to do with her career, it definitely seemed to drag more. I was really more drawn to when she talked about Parks and Rec, but that might be because I'm a fan of that show. I was here for the wisdom, advice, and storytelling, not so much talking about her career.

Great book with fabulous narration. Loved the guest narrators and the audio clips of shows etc. Felt genuine with Amy’s hilarious take on life, love and the universe. Favorite audio book to date Hope Amy does a sequel, but it’s hard work writing a book evidently

I really enjoyed listening to this. The fact that she has multiple comedians/famous individuals read titles/paragraphs/chapters makes the listen that much more interesting. It’s definitely a fun read/listen.

This autobiography is outstanding entirely. It is well structured, expertly read, and poignantly HILARIOUS. I loved learning more about Amy’s personality and the pieces and people of her life she finds most important. I hope eventually there’s another.

Really enjoyable listen. Liked hearing Seth Meyers' chapter about Amy. There were some great little nuggets of life wisdom in this book, mixed with humor and silliness. Lots of heart. I'd like to be Amy's friend, too.

Laughed out loud more than usual. Very clear images painted and very relatable. Loved the stories and the pace of the reading. Well written and well read.

The style was unique put fell a little short for me. I was hoping for a little more depth in the stories. Always great to have the author of a biography also be the narrator.

This was a fun read. My favorite part was the section about working moms and stay at home moms; it was worth reading just for that section alone! Amy has a huge heart and I feel like it really shows in her writing.

I love Amy poehler! I love this book even more. I gained a lot of respect for Amy when listening to this book. I will forever use her advice and stories to prove people wrong about something or to give facts about her or anything she referred to in this book. I am so proud of her! Absolutely wonderful. I loved Amy for such a long time, and seeing into her life has helped me understand her comedy and acting. A must-read!!!

Truly expected more. It was remotely entertaining here and there but it seemed to reveal what I didn't want to know about Ms. Poehler. That she's rather self serving and not that intelligent or funny. It was disappointing as I'm a fan of SNL. In a sentence, it's shallow.

Remarkably philosophical while utterly charming. Well done Amy Poehler!

Profile Avatar

I just want to say this: I LOVE Amy Poehler. I do, her comedy style makes me laugh and I think she is utterly charming. I did not like this book. This in itself is so upsetting, because I wanted SO BADLY to like it. The best parts of her book are the ones that you feel like you can connect to her, but these moments are few. There is a lot of name dropping and a lot of times where you sit there thinking, "Well, then. How lovely for you, Amy Poehler."

I lost all respect for Amy Poehler. In "Yes Please" when she told the story about the man who handed her a script while she was sleeping on the train. Too bad, you had it going girl. Michael Cook

This book is not only funny, it's insightful and inspiring and it reveals an evolved humanity of a strong and super intelligent woman. It is full of compassion and inspires one to try harder and be better. Definitely not what I was expecting-- more substantive and entertaining than the typical celebrity memoir.

Boring boring boring. And the point is?? Ah nothing just useless babel

Profile Avatar
DEWITT WOOD

Just a bunch of name dropping and babble with some big name celebs trying to save it. About hallf way through I'd heard enough, the book really has no point.

Profile Avatar

Cute and inspiring in parts. Overall an enjoyable listen. Not as funny as Tina Fey's book Bossypants, but their writing styles are very similar and I still enjoyed hearing Amy's story!
