Unabridged Audiobook
An excellent and well researched history of how Hip Hop's Wild West was won. From dope deals gone awry to hostile major record labels, self-righteous politicians (on both sides of the aisle) and ultimately murder there's a lot that can be said about the five years (2011-2015) it took for author Ben Westehoff to muddle through the truth and lies, uncooperative parties and various rumors and innuendos. It's a fair and honest look at a time when Middle-America was quaking in its boots over a genre of music.
Really good book.
