Look for E L James’s passionate new love story, The Mister, available now.

When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.
Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success—his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family—Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey’s secrets and explores her own dark desires.

This book is intended for mature audiences.

Sucked! Plain and simple. Wrong narrator. Should have male and a female...bad move. And don't even get me started on those emails...OMG!!!!!!!!!! I suppose if you like to listen to people talking about f*cking all the time (or perhaps your trying to learn how), then I guess this would be the book for you. I for one would knock the hell out of a man that talked to me like I was some kind of sl*t! No thank you.

I absolutely loved the story line but the narration was dry and not always pleasant to listen to

If you're looking for a guilty pleasure book to find a romantic escape from reality, look no further. However if you're looking for a literary masterpiece, keep looking.

Very unrealistic, badly written, and boring. Christian Grey doesn't come across as sex or mysterious, more so abusive and stalker-esque. I have no idea why this book is ranked so high.

I literally couldn't get past the first 5 minutes. The narrator is obnoxious, and writing is terrible.

I thought I would listen to see what all the hype is about. Got maybe to chapter 6 and wished I hadn't. That is time I will never get back!!! I wish I could scrub my brain from what I heard!! It's not that I don't like the topic (I enjoy some good smut every once in a while) it's just that the grammar was horrible, the topic ridiculous, the characters one dimensional, ignorant, and immature. The author obviously has no idea what a "subconscious" is, and well, if this is the future of sexuality for women, we have taken a major slide backwards!!! Something just as smutty and yet more cerebral would make double$$ what this piece of $h! has!!!

So unrealistic and horrible! Don't waste your time.

Too ridiculous even to listen too! The narrator's voice was annoying as well.

I couldn't get past the first hour because the narrator was terrible! Sad I wasted money on this one.

I love this book. Listening to it makes me worry if other people can hear it.

I love this book. The writing can be a bit cheesy at times, but the story line makes up for it. The reader was ok, but she was very breathy when she spoke, and the voices on characters with any type of accent were cringe-worthy. You can only expect so much, but she did a great job regardless.

Love the book!! But it was very strange hearing a female voice narrating the male parts but still could not stop listening!! I've listened to it several times no matter my feelings about a female narrator doing the male parts!

If you can identify and empathize with the insipid protagonist, you are part of what's wrong with popular culture. If you want less insulting lady-porn, try A.N. Roquellaire's "Beauty" trilogy.

The narrator was just as ridiculous as the book so I guess it was a perfect fit. The email messages complete with to and from descriptions, dates and times nearly drove me crazy. I want to delete this book from my purchases, but haven't figured out how to do that. Pathetic.

This was quite possibly the worst "written" book I have ever had to fight my way thru. It has a wonderful storyline however, the author reused so many phrases it became comical. The main character is a charade of a young female and everything she does is completely ridiculous. The only way she could possibly be this naive would be to have been brought up under a rock.

I decided to read this book to find out the hype was all about. The story line is good but I have to say at least I got this for free when I first signed up. I finished the Fifty Shades of Grey in two days. It is a good book but Ana is so ignoring I wanted to fast forward on her parts and get to Mr. Grey. I have to say that I am excited that a film is being made on this book; lets see if they stick to the trueness of this book and not skip out on the main parts (wink wink). I give this book four stars but it's not something that I will hurry back to too reread. I will read the others as well got to read the rest to find out if this sex goddess deals with his so called "therapy" obsessions. Oh, and also the narrator was awful her voice is what made Ana so ignoring but I think that even if I read it myself, Ms. Steele would still be ignoring. lol. Now you know my opinion on the book, what do you think?

Horrible narrating! The girl has no emotion and her trying to sound like the men in this makes me laugh. Definitely not what I expected, wasn't worth the money/credit.

This book is a travesty to the written word, and while I am against censorship I feel I could make an exception. This book presents BDSM in a dangerous and false light, extraordinarily toxic relationships as acceptable or even desirable, and how disappointing the human race is. The author wrote this on a Blueberry during her commute to work. That alone is a glaring indictment of the trash quality of this “book”. Much more entertaining to look up Gilbert Gottfried’s dramatic reading on YouTube.

  • Alicia F.

    Loved the series.

Not nearly as dark or perverse as I’d been led to believe. Not to say the description doesn’t match, just not to my expectation.

  • Nick H.

    Great book

  • Chris E.

a lot more story that fills in some of the missing pieces from the movie.

  • Lisa T

OMG!!! Such a great book!!... It gives so much insight to Anastasia and Christian that the movie doesn't... Definitely reading the 2nd book and hopefully it will be better than the movie as well!

  • Elaine B

Good book! Narration better than others I've heard.

  • Lori U

This is a great book, it makes my day go by so fast.

  • Aqila Church

I love this book. Narration is a little high pitched at times but overall good.

  • Laura Santiago

I love the narrator, her voice is very fitting. She tells Anastasia's side to the story so well and the way she elevates and relates her voice to the character is a nice fitting.

  • Carla de Souza

Since English is my second language, I decide to read this book just because I must learn new vocabulary... However, I couldn't stop to reading... I really enjoyed this book and the reader's voice is wonderful... It was a great experience... I want to try again...

  • Jennifer potter

Great book! It was hard to stop listening to it. I thought the Narrator did a great job at well.

  • Melissa Hagan

The Reader's voice is a little to high pitch for me. Doesn't seem to fit the character's personality. It's sounds a little to over acting.

  • Natalie Bigelow

So good! Better than the movie.

  • Rosemary Toscano

I loved it I wish they put some of the thing in the book into to movie. I'm going to listen to the book again after I read the other two and the grey book.

  • Kiara Serrano

    I love this book!

  • Donna Schrader

  • Stefanie Hernandez

Simply amazing. I can't get enough of this book!! Listening while working helps me get through my days!!

  • Shara Jones

Loved the book! I've read the book, and watched the movie. I wanted to listen to it this time. I wasn't sure about the female narrator at first, but I thought she did a great job. I couldn't wait to start the second book.

  • Carley Even

It was a little odd to hear a female narrat a males voice-it always through my off a bit

  • Catherine Nalubwama

At first it was different to hear a girl narrat a mans voice and it took some time to get used to but after a while i got used to it and it felt so real. Great book and enjoyed the narration as well.

  • Tiffany Kincaid

I could not stop listening! So addicting. The narrator sounded just as you would expect her to.

  • Vanessa Hamilton

Not the best written books out there but why are people complaining? It's an easy read and helps take time away from reality. It's just a book (series)!! It's fiction! People need to quit taking entertainment so seriously. It's not good for you. I personally thought it was great and I enjoy the story. Very descriptive with the sexual scenes, I'll tell you that.

  • Shelley Watt

Great love story. So easy to get totally lost and caught up I this book. The narrator was so so. But great story

  • LaQualla Holland

I loved this book!!!! Currently listening to the second!

  • Drizia Bolaños

Great writer, great reader. I was totally hooked, looking forward to finish the trilogy through audio books! Ms. Batoe read the book as if were actually listening to Ms. Steele. Animated but not in a exaggerated way and change in accent is very impressive, that makes it easy to listen to.

  • Lorraine Collaso

Great book especially the narrative made it harder to put the book down.

  • Carol Sida

Initially, I choose this book simply to find out what the hype was all about. The narrator is fun to listen to as the story goes on but the plot was very gray to me. This audio listen probably won't make it to my favorites.

  • Danielle Cross

I do not like the way it's read, I feel like I'd read it in a different tone. Pauses are in the wrong places

  • Debra Paul

Awesome book, can't wait to listen to the next one. Very well written.

  • Earnise Mayfield

I love it is so good.i cnt stop listening to it so real like it is ABT me so crazy

  • Melissa Barnes

I love this narrator. I feel like I'm watching a movie while listening to the book.

  • Joëlle Belhumeur-Lamabe

I really liked the narrator, she was very good! The book is very good too. A bit "slow" because in the book, three chapters can be one entire day which is completely ridiculous. I am on the second book now!

  • Stephanie Jackson

This book was amazing and the narrater did amazing! I love this book!

  • mich Glasgow

I loved the book and the app. Very easy to use. And great for listening g to the book as I am in the car a lot driving.

  • Heather Blaylock

The narrator was great the story line was great to..

  • Becky Gulisano

Had already read the books, but a friend wanted to use the audiobook, the narrator was a bit bland, unfortunately, but everything else was good.

  • ariadne wallace

I loved book n narrator. Very good read 4 me. Interesting I would like to buy book to keep.

  • Crystal Gonzales

I wanted this book for a road trip, but sadly I listened to the whole thing before my road trip started. I could not stop listening! It is a great book. I am getting ready to download book 2 and am making sure narration is by the same person. The only thing that would have made it better was a mans voice for Mr. Grey.

  • Jordan Tenorio

Amazing!! (: I think it's pretty well written. Not a very good representation of bdsm but it's good for what it is. Love this series.

  • Tracy Hannan

Good book so far. Should have listened to the book before watching the movie. Seems like I keep trying to compare the movie to the book which sometimes makes it hard to pay attention to the book and draw my own picture of what is happening.

  • Melonie Padre

I really don't like it when they start having sex. Other than that, it's a great book

  • Tesh Kosowan

This wasn't as exciting as I hope it would have been. Repetitive and slightly obnoxious to listen to .

  • latosha jackson

I switched to audio books from another audio reading site, after reading some great reviews. It's only been a few days , but do far so good. The Narration is awesome and the book selection is even better.

  • Miranda Stamp

Great book, with great details and passion.....but the narrator voice does not work for this character, especially when she speaks as mr. grey. Would have be excellent with female and male narrator. Still is a great story.

  • Khendra Hunter

This is an amazing story about an indifferent tantalizing love. The narration would be better if it was two of them. One male and one female.

  • Rachel Townsend

This book has made me become a reader!!! I am not a reader, or at least I did not think I was until I pick up and listened to this book. I just listened/read this book in less than 3 days!!!!

  • Tabatha Wiggins

Good book and the narrator sounds just like Anna to me.

  • Pamela Hansen

Ugh! I can't stand this narrator!!! Horrible!!! The book is poorly written, but I still find it very hot.

  • Sheila Lockrem

Normally I strongly dislike any sort of romantic novels but 50 Shades us an amazingly delightful and erotic novel. It's well worth the change from sci-fi genre I so enjoy. I can't wait to read the trilogy.

  • Nadine Rodriguez

I'm infatuated wit Grey! The narrator is pretty soft for the most part.

  • Kadi Channell

Don't like the narrator, it should have been male and female narration

  • Frankie Reid

Love ????Love ????Love???? This was a great book still hoping to see the movie and the other two to come great job EL

  • Elizabeth Nascembeni

This woman tells the story with just as I would hear it in my head while I am reading it

  • Shanley McNeil

Narrator is great, book is.... Okay. I really like the second one! But the first one makes it seem a little more like it's just the sex and not their love. Everyone reads the first book and says this is all disgusting and gross... But it's the second book that really shows their love and commitment to eachother. :) She wants this... And people don't get that sometimes :b

  • Kimberly Bivens

Loved it! The love story is great. I really enjoyed the narrator. She did a great job bringing the book and characters to life.

  • Lucrecia Richardson

Took a little time to get use to the narrator but she did a great job

  • joseph miguel

Overall the book was definitely entertaining. Anastasia Steele, a complete prude, a flower waiting to blossom, eager to be picked. And ohhh did she, she got picked by a man who she ended up heals over head for, and into a world she struggled to get undone from.

  • Natasha Martinez

Loved the book. It had me sucked in from start to finish. It was exciting, sad, and kept my emotions on edge. I can't wait to read the next two books.

  • Brandi Harris

Great book! The narrator kept me in the moment. It kept me wanting to know more about the story line. Can't wait for 50 Shades Darker!

  • Yesenia Gutierrez

I really loved this book. At first, it takes a minute to get used to the narrator. But once you get used to her, she really captivates the story. She did an amazing job. Can't wait to hear the other books.

  • Jason rozanski

I really enjoyed listening to the book. Very surprising ending!

  • Adrienne Long

Really enjoyed listening to this book! Narrator did a great job at making me feel like I was there. Can't wait to listen to the next book!!

  • Robert Kearney

Slow to start but just keep going. Helped me understand the mind set of men and women differ great lye when it comes to love lust and sex

  • Jennifer Painter

Love this book. Love having it read so I can be doing anything and listen to it.

  • maureen mikusa

A book written with pathetic people in mind . Nuff said , don't want to waste anymore time then I already have with this review

  • Stacy Farley

I heard all the hype about this book, no details about the backstory-just about how graphic it was...And I just wanted to read/hear the book before I saw the movie. Now thatI am finished with the book, I want "MORE" ! Lol! The narrator, I thought, did an exceptional job! She totally brought the words to life. 5 stars!!

  • Lois Burger

This is my all Time favorite series. I don't want to spoil anything for listeners that haven't heard it yet but you can't help but fall in love with Christian flaws and all. The first time I listened to this book I was screaming at Anna to run as fast as she can from Him. As I got more into the book I could see He was falling hopelessly in love with her and so hoped she could help Him towards normalcy. The only thing with these books that annoyed me is Anna's attitude towards Christian's generosity because if I had a filthy rich guy buying me items I'd be thrilled. Narrator was terrific! I'm waiting on pins and needles for the movie to come out tomorrow as I can't wait to see it come alive on the big screen.

  • Jessica Maxwell

Very eloquent reader, voice changes were great. Pleased with purchase.

  • Alan Davis

Great loved it I didn't want too pause wanted to find out what was going to happen next I love the way he couldn't love her but he really did I don't think I've ever Liked a book or a story quite as much waiting for more

  • Janina Rodriguez

The narrator did a great job. Her reading style kept me captivated in the book couldn't stop listening . She pretty much brought the book to life for me. :-)

  • Lisa Gonzalez

Loved it. Great read couldn't stop listening. It captivated me

  • Jacquelyn Yerian

I enjoyed the narrator but found it a bit odd sounding when she spoke in the voice of the male character because it made it seem less believable and slightly odd. Overall still an enjoyable narrator and a good book.

  • Ingrid Brammer

Great narration. Loved the book.looking forward to book 2 and 3.

  • Lyle Robinson

Very much enjoyed this book. Look forward to the next one

  • Nohely Melo

Amazingly good book !! I can't sto readying it !!!

  • Brenda Throckmorton

Loved the book, love Christian and Anastasia together, probably THE BEST books I've every read,

  • Melissa McCloud

???????????????????? on book 2 now. Already downloaded book 3.... Come on movie, hurry!!!! Really wish Jax was Grey!! ????

  • Danielle Streetman

Well read!! Becca even did well on the male voices.

  • Monick Rocha

Narrator's voice is very very annoying. I tried listening to it on my rides.. I just couldn't. The book over all is okay! It is a very sexual, intense but her voice " oh my..." Very annoying.

  • Laura Platt

Loved it. Great narrator. Frustrating ending because there will be sequels I guess. Looking forward to the next one!

  • kelli clausen

wow great book Hot! WANT MORE!! I couldn't put it down my boyfriend was happy man all week lol

  • susa ahern

Listening to the book in daily commute traffic has made life so much more bearable. Also put me in a mood to see my sweetheart in the evening . The narrator's portray of Christian is ridiculous and comic.

  • Lauren Ashford

Great book. A little embarrassing to listen to at first but it will get you!

  • Daniel Adames

I loved the book. It started pretty slow but I understand why. They want to get you emotionally involved. I laughed, I was sad, I cried, and enjoyed (for the most part) the sex scenes as well. I was hoping for a more happy ending but if that would of been the case then books 2 and 3 wouldn't be out. Read it. You'll enjoy it!

  • Ashley Rondon

I love the readers expression during the book. Gave me a good idea and placed me in the correct mindset with a vivid picture created.

  • Trish Eveland

Love the book! I have read/listened to the book about 5 times. I love the story behind it.

  • Lucy De Cesare

I enjoyed the audio book. The narrator did an amazing job.

  • Tana Strauss

I too, read/listened out of curiosity. I loved the story and have now read all three. I thought How Anna's innocence broke through Christian's dysfunction and led to healing, forgiveness and fresh love was heartwarming. I thought they could have chosen a better narrator. It is not very well written but anything this erotic and graffic will get past the writing.

  • Norlan Benitez

I simply love it!!!!!!. I felt in love with the narrators voice, every time she said "oh my!!!!!!" OMG....

  • Cheryl Zweibohmer

I listened to this book over a year ago and I still think about it to this day. The Narration was EXCELLENT. It is probably one of the best if not the best narration's I have ever listened too. The book keeps you turning the pages or not wanting to hit pause. The are parts that make you angry , parts that make you sad and parts that make you wish you where in the book. This is diffently a women's book. I look forward to the movie and I hope that it stays onlne tot he book or it will be a big disappointment. I say give the book a try. I never read romance and almost didn't go for it, but I am glad that I did!

  • Maria McCarthy

I read the book out of curiosity since everyone was talking about it. It's poorly written BUT the story line is captivating.

  • Katelyn Blair

I love hearing her narrate the books. She's amazing!!!
