Unabridged Audiobook
Very easy to listen to. Well read, well written. Not overdone, just straight forward, interesting, and relatable. I would recommend this book as an audiobook to anyone at all interested in current day struggle, death, coming of age stories that are about real experiences and honest memories. The author writes/speaks in a way that is comfortable to listen to. I enjoyed getting to know her and did not get dragged down with any "me me me" naval gazing or self pity. Quite the opposite, instead, without being falsely heroic, she shows a keen awareness of and interest in those around her and a straightforward understanding of loss, abuse and survival, and her approach is not settling into self pity but rather looking for and taking constructive steps forward.
