Unabridged Audiobook
So Wrong (Boys of South Chapel #1) is a second chance, why choose romance. This book is told in multiple points of view. The chemistry between Greedy and Hunter as teens was really good and I enjoyed the glimpses of their past. The chemistry building between Levi and Hunter was nice as well. This story was full of drama, some steamy moments and intense emotions. I was left with some questions that I’m hoping will be answered in book #2. That cliffhanger had my draw dropping for sure. June DeBorahae, J. River Pierce, Liam Dicosimo did a really nice job narrating this book. I enjoyed them bringing these characters to life.
A steamy second chance story is perfect for me. I listened to the audiobook; I love that the narrators were able to use their voices to bring the characters to life. I could feel the story come to life as I listened. Hunter and her first love Greedy went their separate ways and are now back in the same town. These two circled each other but could not keep away. They were drawn to each other. The kicker?? Hunter is fake dating Greedy’s best friend Levi. This story was so much fun to listen to. I liked the drama, the friendships, the romance, and the heat. So Wrong is a book with many triggers in this book that I want to be sure that anyone who picks it up whether to read or listen realizes it. There is mentions of child abuse and neglect, miscarriages, homophobia, and others. I suggest you check out the author's website (https://www.authorabbymillsaps.com/so-wrong) to check out the entire list. I did not feel the triggers were big parts of the story but they are what makes the story what it is. Each trigger was dealt with carefully and I felt they were presented in a realistic way.
Not what I expected and I loved it. The story is slow burn and at time that is agonizing, but also so delicious. Hunter is a young woman with a moms who isn’t worthy of the title and a father who should have been more. So she makes the choice so many of us wish we could when life hurts too much. And the two guys who love her do all they can to show her they care and will be by her side no matter what. I know that is all confusing but I fear more details would ruin this beautiful love story. Please also be aware these characters story does not end with this story so make sure you make room in your schedule for reading book two asap because trust me you won’t want to wait. The narrators did a fantastic job bringing the characters and story to life. Highly recommend. P.S. The twist at the end … WOW!!!
Awesome Story & Narration! Gripping & Emotional! Abby Millsaps pens another amazing sports romance novel, a steamy why choose romance, the first in her new “Boys of South Chapel” series, and wow what a start it is. The story is not only captivating from start to end, but it tugs at your heartstrings the entire time, too. Hunter St. Clair was one of my favorite characters in “The Boys of Lake Chapel” series, so I was happy to hear she was getting her own story, even happier to hear it was going to be a series. This story is told in alternating time frames, the now and the then, which is about three years after. We get a glimpse into the characters’ Hunter, Greedy and Levi’s, lives when they first meet, and showing what led them to where they stand in the now. Hunter is more fragile in this book, more broken, and yet she is just as strong and definitely determined to remain that way. Greedy and Hunter were each other’s first, and they fell in love, but Hunter’s world comes crumbling down, thanks to her narcissistic mother’s actions. Hunter fled and stayed away for three years, but came back home and is working on finishing college. She avoids Greedy, but when Levi needs them, she is there for him and something more develops between her and Levi. Greedy still has it bad for Hunter and there has not been with anyone else, and when he sees how close the two are getting, he is accepting of it and wants in, but Hunter has her reasons for staying away from Greedy. And that ending, what the what? And if things were not complicated enough, they just got even more complicated. I loved all the layers of this story, and the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. There is never a dull moment in this book and the story has plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Abby Millsaps, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride. And for the amazing narration, June deBorahae, J. River Pierce and Liam Dicosimo did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life and did so with a complete understanding of who they were portraying, giving each a voice that was fitting and were believable in every role. June deBorahae nailed it as Hunter, grasping every aspect of her personality, her vulnerabilities and her strengths. J. River Pierce did the same as Levi and Liam Dicosimo as Greedy, both showcasing their character’s traits and personalities perfectly. All were great in performing the roles of the secondary characters, too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers made a great team and their performance elevates this already amazing story to another level. Thank you for another fabulous listen.
