Summary
From the New York Times bestselling author Lisa Scottoline comes a fast-paced, thrilling new audiobook.

Nobody cuts deeper than family...

Dr. Noah Alderman, a widower and single father, has remarried a wonderful woman, Maggie Ippolitti, and for the first time in a long time, he and his young son are happy. Despite her longing for the daughter she hasn’t seen since she was a baby, Maggie is happy too, and she’s even more overjoyed when she unexpectedly gets another chance to be a mother to the child she thought she'd lost forever, her only daughter Anna.

Maggie and Noah know that having Anna around will change their lives, but they would never have guessed that everything would go wrong, and so quickly. Anna turns out to be a gorgeous seventeen-year-old who balks at living under their rules, though Maggie, ecstatic to have her daughter back, ignores the red flags that hint at the trouble brewing in a once-perfect marriage and home.

Events take a heartbreaking turn when Anna is murdered and Noah is accused and tried for the heinous crime. Maggie must face not only the devastation of losing her daughter, but the realization that Anna's murder may have been at the hands of a husband she loves. In the wake of this tragedy, new information drives Maggie to search for the truth, leading her to discover something darker than she could have ever imagined.

Riveting and disquieting, After Anna is a groundbreaking domestic thriller, as well as an audiobook of emotional justice and legal intrigue. And New York Times bestselling author Lisa Scottoline will keep listeners hooked until the final shocking seconds.

Started out great, but felt like the last several chapters were just fill-in especially Noah's part. The back and forth between Noah and Maggie was fine but each chapter could have been longer and not split up so much. The ending was far fetched, pretty sure the mom of the victim is not allowed to tag along a dangerous rescue mission. Overall it was pretty good, but I also thought the narrators lacked dynamics, and sometimes the male voice sounded robotic. The female voice didn't change much at all between characters. Better narrators could have helped. Sad we never got to know the real Anna.

Once again, I didn't want a book to end! The characters were well-developed and I thoroughly enjoyed the way the narrators each had a specific role as this made it easier to understand timelines.

POTENTIAL SPOILER ALTER!!! Great read, could not put it down. The characters were well developed and the plot of who done it or why was well hidden and hard to figure out till the end. Only one part was unrealistic allowing the mother to ride in the police car. Other than that very believable. My book club loved it.

This is one of a few books that have great sound quality and great narration. This author used very little profanity and had me guessing the murder until the very end.

It was a good listen! I agree with other comments however that the end was too rushed.

"After Anna" is a rare thriller not to be missed, but I maybe it should come with a warning label. Anna stirs emotions. I wasn't sure if I should hate her, feel sorry for her or what. I wasn't sure how to feel about the people around her. The end was great. A glorious one from Lisa Scottoline.

Tedious courtroomtalk, fast forwarded most of the book. Interesting but frustrating ending.

After Anna was among the worst books of Lisa Scottoline. The story is about a mother who finally reconnects with her daughter who turned out not been who she expected. (Can’t say more without giving the book away...). The story per se is interesting, but for 75% of it it’s slow paced and the mother naiveness and repeated “honey” is quite irritating...The father character is also unreal and is borderline between masochism and stupidity. I have to force myself to continue listening and finally I enjoyed the last part of the book although the author rushed through the ending without elaborating more. In my opinion the writer should have cut more from the first part (especially the “honey” sugary boring and irritating one) and elaborate more on the finale. I read many Scottoline books and particularly enjoyed the Rosato/D’Annunzio book series. I wondered if she really wrote this book. Certainly not one of her best.

Great narration and a good read. The ending came quickly and was mildly preachy at the end. Overuse of the word “frowning”. Overall would recommend and I looked forward to listening.

Book was a good listen, but the female narrator had an incredibly annoying voice

As a criminal lawyer, the author's lack of knowledge of legal procedure had me cringing in my seat (and I was driving long distance to boot). The before and after dragged on a bit and then the ending came way too quickly. But I enjoyed the book all in all.
