Summary
DROKA

A warrior owns what he is able to take. And I take her.

She's trembling in a closet, hiding from the raiding party invading her human settlement. Hiding from me.

I collar her. I own her. She's mine by law.

As the Captain of the Imperial Guard, I've sworn a solemn oath to have no mate, sire no offspring.

Oath-breakers are traitors, executed without a second thought. Let them try. I'll beat them all for a chance to claim my mate.

AREN

I just want to go home. Except, I don't have one. These alien bastards burned it to the ground.

And the biggest bastard of them all put a collar around my neck. He parades me around on the end of a leash like I'm his newest pet.

My clothes are torn and my body is exposed and there's about a hundred alien warriors looking at me like they can't wait to have a turn.

He keeps me safe from the horde. I'm his lawful captive, his property-and he doesn't want to share.

But will he fight this hard to protect me when he finds out who I really am?

Contains mature themes.

The story idea is good but weakly developed.

Second book of the series and I'm still not sure about it. I am not feeling the whole rapey feel of the aliens in the warehouse where they sell the humans. It's weird and uncomfortable. However, the story was ok. I loved the chemistry between Aren and Droka. Aren is sheltered but strong and a fighter. Droka is headstrong and the captain of the imperial guard and as such had taken an oath to never take a mate. Problem is that Aren is in fact his true mate. Most of the story is about him fighting temptation and trying to complete the task he was initially sent to do but obstacles keep getting in the way. I loved how he fought for her but I was really worried for a while in the middle. All in all, the book was just ok.

Very good Alien romance. It keeps your attention from start to finish. There are some pretty intense moments at the beginning that maybe could have been written differently, very 'Vlad the Impaler'ish, but it gets the idea on how bad these guys are.The books progression is very well done and all-in-all, very enjoyable.

Unexpectedly love the info about space. Clearly a lot of research has been done.
