Unabridged Audiobook
Absolutely delightful.
I think this is a wonderful insight, into an interesting era from an unusual social position, I am glad she shared it with the world. It reminded me that life truly is an adventure with ups and downs and you choose how to deal with them all.
It was an interesting book on an interesting lady. I enjoyed hearing it from the author herself. I found myself quite entertained to have a glimpse into the life of this type of society. She has a very good outlook on life, particularly given the adventure and tragedy she has lived through although I personally cringed and raged at some of her husband's antics! I'm looking forward to discussing this one at our next book club.
Wonderful stories about a life well lived!
Spectacular autobiography! After reading many biographies of historical figures where much of the information is either from secondhand accounts or speculation, I love that this book was a firsthand account and narrated by the author. I could feel the emotion in her voice. I laughed, I cried, I cringed and raged right along with Annie as she told her extraordinary story. I was absolutely transfixed for the entirety of the book.
I loved listening to her "Queen's English" telling of a real behind the scenes, royal adjacent life story. She funny, and vulnerable, and very polite.
Boring! Narrator frequently needed a sip of water but she didn’t get one.
Absolutely brilliant. Surpassed expectations on insider information. What a fascinating life - more so than Princess Margaret. LOVED IT
I had high expectations for this book unfortunately it was tedious and poorly narrated. The characters lives become boring due to so many side stories of no relevance. The story seems to jump from one place to another to give a lot of minutiae. Although personal stories would probably be very interesting if the writing wasn’t so verbose and with a professional narrator. I am disappointed as I looked forward to this book for months.
