Our Last Chance

I really enjoyed the medical/ legal aspect of this second chance romance between Mia and Nick. A medical lawyer and an emergency doctor. They had a relationship while still in university, but after Mia’s older brother Eli found out his best friend was sleeping with his sister, the strain put a rift between the two. They parted ways with Mia heading to the city and Nick heading back to their small hometown. It took quite awhile before I felt a real connection between these two, in spite of frequent detailed sex scenes. The ongoing lawsuit kept the storyline engaging and it was enjoyable to continue listening, as details came to light. They did reach their HEA, and I wonder if we will hear more about Eli in the next book in the series. I requested a copy of this audiobook and was provided with one. It was an enjoyable read and I look forward to reading/ listening to more by Ajme Williams.

Second chances are hard to come by for some. Nick and Mia had many obstacles in their way the first time around. Now that they are a little older, life throws them some serious curve balls. He was her brother’s best friend. She was the one who pursued him. I stayed up way later than I intended to finish reading, not something I’d do for most books. I laughed. I cried. i wanted to shake some sense into both Mia and Nick at different points. I wanted to smack Eli a couple of times, too. Sofia and Tim really brought the characters to life! Their voices were perfect for the characters! I received a copy of this audiobook at my request and voluntarily left this review.
