Summary
It's been three long years since Deadbreak. That's what everyone's calling it-the day the dead rose. Every day since then Jeremiah Reid has had one goal: to make his way back to his daughter. With his four-legged companion, Joe, Jeremiah has to travel a lawless wasteland teeming with zombies, bandits, and worse, like people who put anchovies on pizza (you know who you are). It's a new world out there and no one is safe. People are weary, cities are in ruin, supplies are scarce, and brains are on the menu. If he's going to have a chance, he'll need his wits, a little bit of luck, and lots of ammo.

I chose this read from the free VIP section. I love the concept (dystopian/apocalyptic)! The character’s dry sense of humour and nonchalance is hilarious! The storyline was ok, of course far fetched as any zombie story is. I’d listen to book 2 but it’s not on ABdotCom. The narrator was awesome!

This was an absolutely excellent book. Are it had interesting and engaging characters, the storyline was fascinating and the combat scenes were engaging.

This was a fun book to read. Jeremiah Reid is snarky and hilariously. I love his interaction with Joe and Jenny. The book is fast moving. The only reason it's taken me so long to finish is that this was an audiobook and the pandemic has interfered with my driving, which is when I usually listen to audiobooks. I hope the author is going to write another book with these characters.

One of the better zombie / end of world books I be read or in this case listener too in years. Characters are solid people likable and loathed as required. Glad it was written as a single stand alone versus the normal 3-10!book collection that are currently in vogue. Writer has a good comedic touch and uses the snark to keep you laughing during horrible situations. First book I’ve read from J Sanchez but I hope he has more planned in near future. Performance by the voice actor was solid and very clear easily understood and not over the top.
