Summary
Justice Volkov is the youngest Alpha Zenith to ever lead the wolf shifters. Following in his father's large paw prints was a responsibility he met head on. Now at age thirty-three, he is alpha of the alphas. As a direct descendant of the original Siberian pack, his wolf is bigger and stronger than Justice himself is sometimes able to control.

His wolf howled long and hard but Justice kept it inside. It felt like a bass drum beating against his rib cage. The harsh breaths, angry snarls, and the determined pacing inside him were overtaking him.

Justice takes his role of leadership and his legacy very seriously. He has little time for romance, not to mention a true mate. His packs are his priority. With a human government trying to regulate them, an uprising of rogue shifters, and a violent team of scientists trying to experiment on them, Justice has his hands way too full.

Chadwick 'Wick' Bentley is not enthusiastic when the captain of his escort tells him he has to leave his comfortable London home and go back to the States. As the Vampire King, he has no choice but to get his species back in line before they cause any more chaos. At over one hundred years old, Wick is no one to trifle with, but his smooth, charismatic manner makes him quite unique, despite the negative reputation vampires have. Wick has had nothing but time up to this point. He doesn't feel the need to make issues pressing. Nothing is urgent in his life. Until he meets Justice. His beloved.

'Natural enemies can't be mates.' Or so Justice thought. He knows his skepticism and rejection is hurting his mate, so while he fights their connection, Wick gets help from a source very close to Justice to help him win his beloved's heart. Wick is a force all on his own, but when he's blessed with a special gift from the Mother herself, not even Justice's powerful wolf can prevent the prophesy from being fulfilled.

Story: 4 Stars! Narrator: 4 Stars! Shifters, Vampires and Humans Oh My! A solid beginning into the paranormal world for AE Via. Nathaniel Black did a wonderful job as Narrator for Prophesy. His voice was smooth and had a great quality about it as he took on the various characters in the story. I enjoyed his accent and the way he helped to add even more dimension to these characters AE Via has brought to life. I’ll definitely be checking out more books he works on. As for the actual story: Alpha Zenith, Justice rules the Wolf Shifters, he’s the Alpha of Alphas and that means he is responsible for how the world perceives the shifter race. Luckily, he’s surrounded by the people he trusts most, his brothers and sister, all alphas as well. But being the leader that everyone respects and relies on isn’t an easy job. Justice is trying to do what he believes will keep humans appeased as well as what’s best for his wolves, the last thing he needs is for an uprising between Shifters and Vampires that endangers humans and results in tragedy. A tragedy that makes the government even more determined to find ways of controlling the now known paranormals. Vampire King Wick is forced to leave his home in London to take action against the Vampires involved in the fight with Shifters. A fight that led to the death of a human police officer. Knowing the precarious situation they are in with Humans and a master at playing the game, Wick is able to appease officials but in the process, he will have to come face to face with Justice, the Alpha Zenith. Shifters are the Vampires sworn enemies and he has no idea what will happen when they meet. Neither man is prepared for what happens. Mates. Justice can’t possibly have a Vampire Mate. He doesn’t even want to think about what that would mean or how that could possibly work. So, instead of embracing the gift he’s been bestowed, Justice turns his back on Wick and decides to ignore the bond. Beloved. Wick knows how special it is to find his Beloved. He’s ready and willing to accept Justice as his. But when Justice refuses him, it’s like a dagger to the heart. A deathblow Justice doesn’t even seem to be aware of. Now that Wick has discovered Justice, he will never be able to feed from anyone else. If Justice won’t have him, Wick won’t survive it. What I Loved: Shifters! A more Realistic take on Shifters and their abilities and behaviors along with interesting ideas on their relationships with humans. I love when I can truly picture the world the author has created even if it is centered around mythical/fictional beings such as Werewolves and Vampires. I loved that both MCs were the Alpha hero. I love strong male characters that feel genuine and Wick and Justice both fit that bill. They were easy to connect to and I could feel their connection and chemistry as well. What I Liked: I really liked the fact that the story was written in a way that while Justice and Wick got the main focus on their love story, the overall plot that is woven throughout the series was just as important and we could see where things were going next with the Volkov family. It left me excited and anxious for the next story and I hope that we will see the relationship between Wick and Justice grow even stronger. What I Didn’t Like: I have a great fascination with the idea of True Mates. I am always excited to read Shifter books with that trope and I miss it if an author chooses not to use it in their lore. What tainted this particular example of the True Mates/predestined lovers storyline was what is frankly one of my biggest pet peeves in Mates stories: When one mate refuses to acknowledge or accept the mate fate has chosen for them. It’s irritating, to say the least, because let’s be real here, if you are presented with someone who was basically created to be your perfect match, wtf would possess you to turn them away? Why would you question it? This person is meant to be yours, ugh! No one else exists out there who is better for you. STOP FIGHTING IT!! I literally wanted to strangle Justice and I was in tears for Wick. I honestly felt like Justice needed to get his butt kicked by his brothers for pushing Wick away like he did. As for Wick, he made me even more sad by the fact that he was generally a good character from the start. I loved him and could tell that his character was the one I was connecting with the most. So after everything was I disappointed? Maybe just a smidge, but overall I have to say it was a great start and I cannot wait to see what AE Via has in store for the rest of the series and the Volkov Family. I definitely recommend Prophesy! ***Copy provided to Bayou Book Junkie by the author/publisher for my listening pleasure in hopes of an unbiased opinion, a review was not a requirement.***

What a beautiful story. I wasn't sure how intense the story was going to be, but it was surprisingly enjoyable. I enjoyed the main characters as well as all the other ones.

Intriguing New Series! The Zen Alpha and the Vampire King have decided to see if they can work out a truce for the good of their people. Since these two species have been enemies in the past or "You stay on your side and I'll stay on mine" type of relationship. It's a shaky foundation the meeting stands on. Then the two meet and their world is turned upside down, then right again. The give and take of their relationship is intense and beautiful to see. I highly recommend this book to fans of LBGT, M/M, Shifters, and Vampire books. The narrator did an excellent job. You can be sure I will be listening to more books in this series and other books by this author.

I liked the narration by Nathaniel Black. The accents he used for the foreign vampires was nice and flowed well with the American accents. Justice is the leader of the wolf shifters. As Alpha Zenith, he rules fairly and he does his best to protect all the packs. When trouble rears it head he must travel to Nevada to take care of his errant shifters. Wick is the Vampire King. He was not happy to be forced to return to America to handle his errant vampires. Justice and Wick’s discovery that they were mates was a surprise. Though neither wolf or vampire knew what to expect from their union. It wasn’t an easy time but they both enjoyed the learning experience. Justice seemed kind of wimpy for the big bad alpha he was supposed to be. Wick, even though he was a king was fairly down to earth. I liked them together and felt that Wick made Justice a stronger leader. Maybe that was the purpose behind the unlikely mating. No spoilers, but I loved Wick’s surprise. I didn’t feel like there was a lot of world building even though this book starts a new series. Overall I enjoyed it.
