This was utter perfection! Ghost whisperer Det. Rain Christiansen and his fiancé, Daniel McKenna, are in a living hell as Daniel’s mother takes their wedding plans from fun and informal to way over the top as she seizes control of every aspect - at least Rain has the consolation of all that cake tasting! While scouting expensive wedding venues, Rain encounters Hannah, a ghost who ask him to find Cherry Parker which leads to a series of chilling cold cases, suicides and suspicious deaths. SE Harmon has such a natural humorous writing voice and it really shines in this series and this book. Rain’s grumpiness masks his deep affection for Daniel and his loved ones and they all know it. And while he gripes about the intrusive ghosts in his life, he always tries to help them get resolution. I always like the balance here, there’s just enough murder and suspense to keep things lively, but not enough to totally creep me out. Audio narrator Kirt Graves is one of the best in the business, he always brings such big heart and humour to these books and he does his usual great job here.
