Abridged Audiobook
The Avenger is another gem by Frederick Forsyth. Because of his background, he knows what he is writing about. Great tension and it builds well; lots of detail which I like.
Forsyth wrote a very fast paced action filled story about a Viet Nam vet who goes and brings back a killer to face justice in the U.S.. His daughter was killed and his wife then committed suicide and he hunted the killers down and killed them. He felt this did not help and felt he should have brought them back to face trial and jail in the U.S. He is now for hire as the Avenger. Some of the action takes place in Serbia and some in South America. He is an expert commando and the CIA is out to stop him in this story. Eric Conger does and excellent job with the narration. Only problem was the book was too short at 5 hours.
Listened to the first CD but didn't keep my attention or interest. Slow start. Returned after 1st CD.
This is a great story with just enough authenticity to make it credible. The reader is good but makes a serious error in his pronunciation of the South African, Lt. du Plessis. "Du Ple-see" is correct, not "du Ple-siss." That shouldn't happen.
