This first installment of a cozy mystery series transports listeners to the bygone era of 1923 Britain, where unflappable flapper and fledgling journalist Daisy Dalrymple daringly embarks on her first writing assignment-and promptly discovers a corpse.

I was looking forward to the book, however,it left me questioning the research skills of the writer. I love mysteries but also admire the effort the author puts into the background of the novel. On this occasion a number of facts were wrong. It also read like a Miss Fisher Mysteries novel; same titles of main character, connections etc. I rarely listen to a complete book in one go, however felt I had to in order to judge it. The narration was good but the accent failed from time to time. Overall I would rate this book pretty low.

Love this new series (to me)! A nice "cozy" mystery!
