pleasant transition to sleep by directing the awareness of stress-inducing
thoughts to pleasant, soothing images of imagination and physical
relaxation. The mental rest and the deep state of relaxation, which are thus
brought about, create favorable conditions for falling asleep naturally and
for a restful night's sleep.
