From The New York Times bestselling author of Blue Heaven and Back of Beyond, C.J. Box, comes a gripping new thriller.

When teenagers Danielle and Gracie Sullivan take a clandestine car trip to visit their friend in Montana, little do they know it's the last time anyone will ever hear from them again. The girls and their car simply vanish. Cody Hoyt, who's just lost his job and has fallen off the wagon after a long stretch of sobriety, is in no condition to investigate. But his son Justin, who the girls were going to visit, and his former partner, Cassie Dewell, convince him to drive south to their last known location. As Cody makes his way to the remote stretch of Montana highway where the girls went missing, Cassie discovers that there have been scores of similar disappearances in the state. There's a serial killer out there roaming the highways, and Cody and Cassie must find him before he takes more lives.

This is a great book. A lot of suspense and significant plot twists so that just as you figure out what's going to happen you're proven wrong.

  • MS from Helena

So entertaining to read a another C.J. Box novel that takes place in Montana and around Helena (especially since I live only a few blocks from the infamous Jester's Bar). The author is very accurate in the physical descriptions and flavors of the areas of Montana which appear in the book. After "Back of Beyond" many of the same characters reappear in "The Highway". But with the loss of one of the main characters, will this be a stand-alone novel or become part of a series?

I really enjoyed The Highway. It kept me interested the entire time. Never too technical. And I thought the narrator was fantastic. Very captivating.

  • Judith Bellefleur

The story line was captivating, although not what I had expected. Author focused less attention on the investigation of the crimes and more on the depraved serial killer. I would say the ending is disturbing.
