I think this book must have been intended as easy reading for young people. The book begins with a thumbnail history of piracy in the Caribbean. After that it is a series of short stories written to a formula. It is not a source for historical information about piracy, as I vainly hoped.

Ok, this was an interesting book. A little long at points, and not long enough in others. The book tells some history of pirates, and some in particular. Some had very short careers. Anyone interested in this material will find the book very interesting, and gives a flavor of what those times were like.
