I tend to lean more Democratic/Liberal. Nevertheless, I do consider myself a "middle of the road" American Citizen who believes that we must remain open to all civil discourse and perspective. To say that I was a fan of Mr. Cheney's as our Vice President is quite far from the truth, nevertheless, I was actually quite touched by much of what he said and felt a kinship to some of his political and personal perspective even though I didn't agree with a lot of it. For me, reading this book is a welcome reminder of how important it is not to judge a man or woman by political affiliation and stereotype and to remember that we are all Americans working towards a more perfect union. We need more open political discourse in this country and we owe it to ourselves to read both sides of the spectrum.

Dick Cheney has had an amazing career. Ford's Chief of Staff, 5 term Congressman, Secretary of Defense, and VP during one of America's most challenging eras. Regardless of how you view Cheney (admittedly I am a fan of his), this very interesting and well presented audiobook will give you a valuable look into how D.C. works (or doesn't work). Additionally it will give you an insiders view of why and how some of the most controversial decisions of our era were made.

I appreciate Dick Chaney and the great service he has given to the country I love he was always careful to thank our military and so do I but I want to give a great big thank you to Dick Chaney Constance S Miller

I've always been a fan of Cheny's, so naturally I'm more inclined to enjoy his autobiography. I actually especially enjoyed the earlier part of his life story about which I knew very little. In fact, it is fascinating to consider how much time he spent in or near the Oval Office (Nixon, Ford, Bush 41, Bush 43 administrations). Truly a very interesting man.
