Summary
In appearance Hercule Poirot hardly resembled an ancient Greek hero. Yet – reasoned the detective – like Hercules he had been responsible for ridding society of some of its most unpleasant monsters.

So, in the period leading up to his retirement, Poirot made up his mind to accept just twelve more cases: his self-imposed ‘Labours’. Each would go down in the annals of crime as a heroic feat of deduction.

This is the first time I listened to this book - in fact had never seen it before, though I have read or listened to many of AC's books. Always easy read and easy listen, but above and beyond Hugh Fraser is the best narrator. His voice is very calm, he does very well with other characters without overdoing it, both with women and men and with Poirot's accent. I could listen to him all day and feel uplifted !! This is a collection of Hercule's 12 last solutions, each one running into the other almost with no loud music in between and no screaming or shootings to disturb your slumbers.
