Thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook. The content is simple, yet not always that easy do to. I want to listen to it again as there’s a lot of valuable tips and insights. Chris Voss is a former FBI Hostage negotiator. Every chapter starts off with a hostage drama. He then gives examples of how to use these skills in the business world. I particularly liked his explanation of ‘tactical empathy’. This is the deliberate influencing of your negotiating counterpart’s emotions for the ultimate purpose of building trust-based influence and securing deals. As he explains, we need to get over our fear of negotiating. Everything in life is a negotiation; it’s about asking in the right way. You get what you ask for, but, you have to ask for it in the right way. Negotiation is communication with results. Never be needy for a deal Highly recommendable
