Noble House: The Epic Novel of Modern Hong Kong

Unabridged Audiobook

Written By: James Clavell

Narrated By: Ralph Lister

Publisher: Blackstone Audiobooks

Date: November 2015

Duration: 54 hours 50 minutes

Summary:

This spellbinding adventure is a literary triumph that proves once again why James Clavell's books have become modern classics.

Set in Hong Kong in 1963, the action of Noble House spans scarcely more than a week, but these are days of high adventure: from kidnapping and murder to financial double-dealing and natural catastrophes-fire, flood, landslide. Yet they are also days filled with all the mystery and romance of Hong Kong-the heart of Asia-rich in every trade … money, flesh, opium, power.

"Fiction for addicts…extravagantly romantic…a book that you can get lost in for weeks…staggering complexity…not only is it as long as life, it's also as rich with possibilities."-New York Times

I read this book over 35 years ago. It was very good but having it read, unfortunately, makes it boring. I couldn't finish it.

Excellent This is one of the most exciting books I have read, but is it really reading when you listen? The excellent story and narrator made my daily commute change from a drag to not long enough. Enjoy...
