Summary
The million-copy New York Times bestseller from the Fox News anchor who’s brought new excitement–and massive amounts of populist common sense and rock-solid honesty–to television news.

Now four seasons strong, Bill O’Reilly’s nightly cable news program, “The O’Reilly Factor,” is one of the hottest shows on the air. In book form, The O’Reilly Factor has sold over a million copies and spent fourteen weeks at the top of the New York Times bestseller list. Obviously, Bill O'Reilly has made his mark. His blunt, ironic, no-holds-barred style has earned him a devoted audience–friends and foes alike–who send him five thousand letters every week. And with the wit and intelligence that have made him one of the most talked-about stars in both television and publishing, O’Reilly continues to identify what’s right, what’s wrong, and what’s absurd in the political, social, economic, and cultural life of America.

I felt obligated to listen to O'Reilly's book since I had already listened to two Al Franken books and wanted some balance. This book is one of the worst selections I've made since I joined this club. O'Reilly basically preaches to you about all manner of things in an abrupt and arrogant tone. He gives his advice on raising your kids, romance, work habits when I was looking for some political discussion. He constantly drops gems that enhance his own image like "my Masters in Broadcast Journalism (3 times) or the "literally hundreds of women I've dated." He talks about the public's ridiculous interest in celebrities then shamelessly admits to using it to pick up women. You get the picture. If you're looking for someone to rant relentlessly on all subjects with little or no regard for the listener, this is the book for you.

Very difficult for the "layman" to understand...unless you're a follower of Bill O'Reilly's show The O'Reilly Factor." Good information, but sometimes difficult to comprehend.

I have read several of Bill O'Reilly's books. I loved Who is Looking Out for You and liked several others. However, this book is disappointing. I prefer for him to stick to politics (as irrerevernt and bombastic as he is). I always enjoy a point of view. However, I felt like in this book he was giving me tips on how to live better, feel better.... Not what I really care to hear about from him. I did not finish this book....got over halfway and thought it was a waste of time. He made some good points, but it just was not the book was hoping it would be. I recommend several other books he has authored...nut NOT this one.

I was hoping for more political pandering to my conservative side, but the book was entertaining.

For those that like O'Reilly, they will like this book. More of the same as his show, but he goes into more detail that backs up much of what he talks about. Very informative, worth the time.

I loved every minute of his direct fast clever presentation, even when he was sharing an opinion that I totally disagreed with. His courage to stand up for his beliefs and to utilize his free speach rights is admirable. I don't watch much TV so I really didn't know who Bill O'reilly was until after listing to this. The name just sounded familar. I'm glad I rented this. This book is entirely entertaining and funny while at the same time totally serious. It really gets you thinking about our society and people today. Excellent.

This book was okay but, not what I expected. It was more about his opinions on the world and everylittle thing in it. From hairstyles to Sushi, he covers it. It was okay but not great.

Interesting and informative. You have to value his well thought out and researched opinion. Makes you wonder "the rest of the story" that he doesn't tell you.
