Summary:

Given the way love turned her heart in the New York Times bestselling To All The Boys I've Loved Before, which SLJ called a 'lovely, lighthearted romance,' it's no surprise that Lara Jean still has letters to write. Lara Jean didn't expect to really fall for Peter. She and Peter were just pretending. Except suddenly they weren't. Now Lara Jean is more confused than ever. When another boy from her past returns to her life, Lara Jean's feelings for him return too. Can a girl be in love with two boys at once? In this charming and heartfelt sequel to the New York Times bestseller To All the Boys I've Loved Before, we see first love through the eyes of the unforgettable Lara Jean. Love is never easy, but maybe that's part of makes it so amazing.

I feel like all of the sex being promoted as an acceptable occurrence for our young people is detrimental. We are down to an author saying that it is okay to not have sex if you aren't ready. There is something really wrong with this picture. I miss the standard being held (even if it was difficult to attain) of not having sex until marriage. If we keep lowering our standards, then soon it won't even be acceptable to say that it is okay to not have sex if you aren't ready... non-sexual teenagers will become the outcasts. Other than this moral problem that I have with the story, I enjoyed the characters almost as much as I enjoyed them in the first book and felt that the story line was poignant and fun.

I don’t really understand the review by Kristen L. The book(s) treats sex as something special in this series. Nowhere did I get the impression that the author thinks it’s okay to have sex whether you are ready or not. It is also a commentary on the double- standard between girls and boys. Sex is everywhere. To act like it’s not is absurd. I think the author tells the story in a way that is believable AND honest to reality. I also loved the true reflection of bullying in our current culture. I wish the movie had used more of what this book described. I highly recommend this book and series.
