Summary:

A #1 New York Times Bestseller!

Presented by James Patterson's new children's imprint, this deliciously creepy horror novel has a storyline inspired by the Ripper murders and an unexpected, blood-chilling conclusion...

Seventeen-year-old Audrey Rose Wadsworth was born a lord's daughter, with a life of wealth and privilege stretched out before her. But between the social teas and silk dress fittings, she leads a forbidden secret life.

Against her stern father's wishes and society's expectations, Audrey often slips away to her uncle's laboratory to study the gruesome practice of forensic medicine. When her work on a string of savagely killed corpses drags Audrey into the investigation of a serial murderer, her search for answers brings her close to her own sheltered world.

The story's shocking twists and turns, augmented with real, sinister period photos, will make this dazzling, #1 New York Times bestselling debut from author Kerri Maniscalco impossible to forget.

My new favorite book by far!

Very good book and a awsome narrator. She use of different vocal patterns when reading mimics how I read in my head.

I knew right away that I would probably like this book; it's my favorite kind of genre and it has a girl holding a knife on the front. How could possibly NOT be good? It was very impressive. Stalking Jack the Ripper stars a brilliant kick-ass heroine who is trying to push her way out of the social norms and be free to follow her heart: to study medical science. And she does so by apprenticing her uncle and dissecting corpses and helping with autopsies. The story is filled with complex and interesting characters, all fairly well developed. The writing was descriptive without being overly flowery. As far as the plot, I had it figured out about halfway through so the ending didn't really come as a surprise, but I enjoyed it all the same. If you're a fan of Gail Carriger, Julia Knight, Dawn Kurtagich, or Laini Taylor, you'll be adding Maniscalco to your Author Watch list.
