Summary:

#1 New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Sandra Brown jolts the reader from the first page of this heart-pounding story of corruption, treachery, and ceaseless deception . . . where nothing is what it seems and every truth brought to light exposes a darker lie.

- When Jordie Bennet and Shaw Kinnard lock eyes across a disreputable backwater bar, something definitely sparks. Shaw gives off a dangerous vibe that makes men wary and inspires women to sit up and take notice. None feel that undercurrent more strongly than savvy businesswoman Jordie, who doesn't belong in a seedy dive on the banks of a bayou. But here she is . . . and Shaw Kinnard is here to kill her.

- As Shaw and his partner take aim, Jordie is certain her time has come. But Shaw has other plans and abducts Jordie, hoping to get his hands on the $30 million her brother has stolen and, presumably, hidden. However, Shaw is not the only one looking for the fortune. Her brother's ruthless boss and the FBI are after it as well. Now on the run from the feds and a notorious criminal, Jordie and Shaw must rely on their wits-and each other-to stay alive.

- Miles away from civilization and surrounded by swampland, the two play each other against their common enemies. Jordie's only chance of survival is to outwit Shaw, but it soon becomes clear to Shaw that Jordie isn't entirely trustworthy, either. Was she in on her brother's scam, or is she an innocent pawn in a deadly vendetta? And just how valuable is her life to Shaw, her remorseless and manipulative captor? Burning for answers-and for each other-this unlikely pair ultimately make a desperate move that could be their last.

-With nonstop plot twists and the tantalizing sexual tension that has made Sandra Brown one of the world's best-loved authors, STING will keep readers on the edge of their seats until the final pages.

This is by far my favorite book from Sandra Brown. The audio book is so good. You can picture everything. The story has it's flaws and her books are always unrealistic but this book is entertaining. The romance was nice and the mystery was good.

  • Andrea M.

Very enjoyable read (listen). Strong characters and a few twist kept me hooked. Excellent narration.

  • Rosemary C

Steamy to say the least. Not what I expected but good. I have to agree with fellow readers, characters were described wonderfully and sensual. The narrator voice sounded like Sylvester Stallone. It was so easy to visualize Stallone with Jordie. This reminds me of that movie with Stallone as a hit man; I can't remember the name of the movie. Again, steamy in parts. It's not much of a romantic but those parts got my attention. It should be rated 'R' just in case some youth would happen on it. I guess we all need to learn sometime but parents may not think so. That voice got my attention. Smoky, dark, deep, and mysterious. I still see Sylvester Stallone's face.

Excellent as usual. Stephen Lang is an awesome narrator.

I usually love Sandra Brown books. This one was OK, not fabulous in my opinion. A little slow but had some interesting twists. The narrator was fabulous.

I really, really enjoyed this book. I'll definitely be looking for more books by this author! The characters were well-developed and the pace was perfect. Gotta love a steamy suspense! Also the narrator did a great job. Surprisingly he was was able to give all the characters depth and individuality. Great read!

Absolutely loved this book. This is the first one I've listened to by this author and narrator. Both were great! Highly recommend!

  • Jeffrey Monroe

Great read. I like the way Brown ties up all the loose ends and brings closure on the characters. Good narration as well.

I really enjoyed this book and that came as no surprise. Sandra Brown is an absolute fantastoc thriller/romance writer and also am always a fan when she uses Stephen Lang as the narrator. This is a must listen/read. She never fails with the surprise twists and everything fits perfectly in the end. The male lead is darl, dangerous, and bery hot. Definitely pulls off a man's man personality. The female in the book is somewhat of a mystery bit can't help but know she is a good person through and through. Wish I could continuously read this and never end.
