Unabridged Audiobook
This book is not for everyone! However the reader was outstanding, the subject matter was well organized and presented, and the extreme detail was very interesting. My high school science knowledge and life was both challenged and stimulated. Author detailed theroies including changing/debunked theories and ideas (with historical perspectives).
A great perspective on the evolution of our earth and how life came to be on earth. Well worth the time spent listening to it. I learned a lot.
A great, short look at the history of our planet. The writing was engaging and vivid, the science was accurate. Robert Hazen clearly knows what he’s talking about and makes you feel smart listening to him. I’ll absolutely keep a lookout for more of his books. Walter Dixon is an easy-to-listen to narrator with great diction, timing, and pronunciation.
Interesting book, however I was very disappointed that the author had so little to offer concerning life on Earth during the most recent 250 million years. He could easily have made the space by telling us less about his personal experiences.
Thoroughly enjoyed this, learned a few new things in the process.
I purchased the hardbound book first, but moved to the audio version middway. During certain long or complicated sections, the audio was much better.
Better than any science class you've had!
