Summary
Penguin presents the audiobook edition of The Taking of Annie Thorne by C. J. Tudor, read by Richard Armitage.

Then . . .

One night, Annie went missing. Disappeared from her own bed. There were searches, appeals. Everyone thought the worst. And then, miraculously, after forty-eight hours, she came back. Though she couldn't, or wouldn't, say what had happened to her.

But something happened to my sister. I can't explain what.
I just know that when she came back, she wasn't the same.
She wasn't my Annie.

I didn't want to admit, even to myself, that sometimes I was scared to death of my own little sister.

Now . . .

The email arrived in my inbox nearly two months ago.
I almost deleted it straight away - but I clicked Open:

I know what happened to your sister. It's happening again . . .

I absolutely adored this book. A little slow in places but LOVED the ending x

I really thought the narration was good, they've got a really good voice. The book wasn't really my cup of tea but it was different

When I first started reading this book, I wasn't expecting that this story would remind me of Pet Sematary. But it did. It's a good book. I don't consider it a thriller or a horror book, I consider it a drama. It's hard to swallow during some chapters and it’s definitely not a book where you’re driven to like the characters. You don't trust them. You don't like them. You can't see yourself in their shoes. But, strangely enough, you see how they are human - full of flaws and traumas -, and how certain situations have made them become what they are.

I didn’t like this book at all - unlikeable characters, the typical alcoholic main man with lots of problems I can’t relate to. The writing is very simple and often just annoying. Also the story is full of cliches.
