The 7 Habits have become famous and are integrated into everyday thinking by millions and millions of people. Why? Because they work!

With Sean Covey’s added takeaways on how the habits can be used in our modern age, the wisdom of the 7 Habits will be refreshed for a new generation of leaders.

They include:
Habit 1: Be Proactive
Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind
Habit 3: Put First Things First
Habit 4: Think Win/Win
Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood
Habit 6: Synergize
Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw

This beloved classic presents a principle-centered approach for solving both personal and professional problems. With penetrating insights and practical anecdotes, Stephen R. Covey reveals a step-by-step pathway for living with fairness, integrity, honesty, and human dignity—principles that give us the security to adapt to change and the wisdom and power to take advantage of the opportunities that change creates.

Perhaps the entire book was better but this version is a cliffnote version only suited to those who want to brush up on material they already know. For those looking for motivation, look elsewhere. I can see how this was wildly successful a long time ago, because most of what you hear here is repeated in newer motivational material. As for the actual presentation of the CD, I found it very annoying to go from two different presenters. First, there is a professional reader that summarizes the material and then there is Stephen Covey himself (poorly recorded live) that throws in a story here and there. It goes back and forth like this throughout. Avoid..

Stephen Covey is good ... but he is repackaging for you the work of Napoleon Hill. Most people find Covey easier to listen to than Hill, so give it a shot. But this book isn't so much about success in achieving big goals as it is about living a principled and balanced life.

I should have read this book years ago, really a great start to thinking differently and turning ones life around in a more proactive manner. Great Narration of the Audio book. It had me anticipating where I had left off each day. I'll be reading this again in the next couple of months.

I am sure it is much better to attend one of Steven Covey's workshops than to listen to this abridged version. Between his voice (which is fluff and mushy) and the narrators, I was happy it was only one cd.

You should already know the 7 habits. How did this get to be a hit?

To my disappointment, this was a single track - one CD book. While it does serve as a quick reference to the material in the book and gets its point across, I would have enjoyed a little more depth on the discussion. Like Cliffnotes, you miss the character and the deeper meaning without a build up of whys and hows. Worth a listen to those that want a quick overview, but I wish I had spent my checkout on something a bit more substantial.

For me, it was everything it promised: a life-changing book! It provides a repertoire of logical and practical ways to reorganise one's life to be more productive and ethical. There are quite a few eye-opening gems. I need to listen to it again and take more notes! The narrator is clear, brings examples to life and uses the right pace and intonation that make more harduous passages easier to understand. I definitely recommend.

amazing book. I like it and wish if I read it earlier in my life.

The techniques given in this book have no expiration date. When the information is applied and used as described it is transformation. It is a book that I will refer back to of the often.

  • Denise Bellaire

awesome book to read and to share with family and friends

  • Krista D

It was an alright book but nothing miraculous. Simple points that are stretched out a little too much for me.

  • Michael Herb

I like the book because it advocates for being a healthy, well-balanced person who's first commitment is to his/her own integrity. It talks about how being effective first involves mastery of the self. After that has been attained, a person can successfully work with others. It also goes on to explain the need for constant growth and how everyone should make that apart of their daily life. I believe in the principles laid out in this book and find it a refreshing change from most books in the self-help genre.

  • Brionna Gripentrog

I thoroughly enjoyed the content of this book. I believe in taking the necessary steps to implement the teachings in the book into everyday life will have a significant positive impact on my life as well as anyone who really listens to it.

  • Laurent Delaunay

Stephen Covey is always good and convincing about living a balanced and yet dream-achieving life.

  • Elisabeth Trost-Shahata

These ideas certainly stand the test of time. Really helpful!

  • Justin Ayers

Shurkle. Its ok. Wish I could of grasp more. Seems maybe too long. I think it could have been about 6 hours shorter. The author repeats himself using differently words. I'll have to listen again one day.

  • Amada Acosta

this book is highly efficient! I recommend it! Perception is reality to some people and it's good to know how to act

  • Tressie Gibson

I love the insight I have gained and hope that it helps!

  • Kolan Lynch

Works great for long drives to work or trips, helps pass the time.

  • Janice Albokai

Great Business Book! For small business owners, solo preneurs, sales professionals.

  • Gail Foster

This was disappointing. Not very engaging. Didn't know I was buying the abridged version.

  • Charles Howard

Far above average . This book is a classic every American every citizen of the world should have a copy read it study it and read it again.

  • Matt Jenkins

Good insights that can be applied to both personal and professional relationships. The teachings and theories aren't rocket science, but they are well packaged here. However, I have two complaints, 1) In a few places, the narrator references a companion worksheet, which is not available on Audiobooks. 2) The musical interludes are rather annoying, drawn out and unnecessary. The book could probably have been cut down by almost 15 minutes without these interludes.

I must not be a highly effective person. Because it is now 3 months later and I don't even remember the book.
