Unabridged Audiobook
Excellent addition to the series. I highly recommend.
Really fast paced, great writing, and another amazing story added to Follett’s Kingsbridge collection. A bit longer than others, but a great read.
Not as good as the rest of the series. Follett’s description of the impact of the Industrial Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars on the average Englishman was well done. His use of later-life marriages was getting tired by this book in the series and his use of gratuitous homosexuality was a poor choice to demonstrate the social upheaval of the times.
I absolutely loved this book and will soon be reading/listening to more of Ken Follett’s works of art. What a creative, educational and emotionally stimulating job the author does in bringing story and characters to life. Follett allows you to understand and feel connected to each individual throughout the story. The wrap up of each individual plays perfectly into the overall novel…it’s not often this happens where it all makes sense, you have that feeling of completion and the storyline never feels rushed. In my humble opinion thus is a superb book on all accounts.
