Summary:

Wei Xiaobao, born in a prostitute in Yangzhou in the early Qing dynasty, saves Mao Shiba by a sudden bravery. At that time, Mao Shiba is a hero in jianghu but meets with a misfortune. After Wei Xiaobao follows Mao Shiba to the capital, Beijing through a series of adventures, he enters the imperial palace and pretends to be a eunuch by accident. There he gets acquainted with little Kangxi Emperor, the ruler of the Qing Empire, and assists him to beat Oboi and finally settles the wars and disputes. Due to his great achievements, Wei Xiaobao becomes the favorite person in the palace. But Kangxi Emperor later discovers Wei Xiaobao’s relationship with the Tiandihui ("Heaven and Earth Society") , and forces him to choose to either remain loyal to the Qing Empire or become an enemy of the state. Wei Xiaobao thus faces a dilemma. As a word, Wei Xiaobao has neither knowledge nor skill but still enjoys great luck in his lives. Mission accomplished, Wei Xiaobao conceals his identity and retires from jianghu at the end of the story, with his seven attractive wives.
