Unabridged Audiobook
Second time I have read this book. I'm a fan of prehistoric fiction. I have yet to find another prehistoric fiction that comes close to Jean Auel's books. Lots of environmental details. The only reason I did not give 5 stars are the never ending 'streamy'. Once or twice OK. But not in details in every chapter. Highly recommend that one has read the first 2 books of the series before reading the Mammouth Hunters.
I love this series! I am named after this series!
Always loved Jean Auel, been reading her since I was 14.
Excellent love the book.
So I read these books when I was in highschool and absolutely loved them. I dreamt of becoming a medicine woman, of collecting plants myself and healing rabbits… or wolves ! The truth is, it’s an excellent serie but it is really repetitive. I guess it’s perfect if your memory fails you and you listen to it sporadically but if you listen to all three books in a row, you’ll skip some parts.
I loved the story . It brings a very positive adaptation to a engagingly story as to the history of man.
I just kept thinking are men this controlling? Are men this dumb? more story and less how dumb they are. It was ok, I remembered loving the books when I was young now I guess I'm too cynical for them.
Well written and the audio is well done
I love this series!
This is a great book and am happy with the app so far. I takes me forever to read a book if I get the time. This app lets me enjoy my favorite stories still.
This book continues the story and has great character development and story line, although it gets tedious at times.
love this series I learn so much. So much information on how early man dressed, food, and other cultural ideas
I was drawn in from the 1st line and I couldn't stop until I was finished, which took a while since this is a very long book. This book is much better to listen to, than to read it. At times I got so mad a the main characters that I wished I could climb into the CD player and beat their heads together. The story gripped me totally.
I am eager to read the next one! Auel has incorporated history and I feel that I am a part of the story. My heart was wanting to jump in and help Ayla with communication. What a story for us all. Not only was it worth the listen, but in the end I have gleaned more about the history of civilizations and witnessed their differences and simularities. The narrator is awesome.
Who knew cavemen could be so witty and urbane? Really, I enjoy the whole series and appreciate all the research Auel has done. It is a fun story to drive with. My only complaint would be the icky love scenes which follow the romance novel formula, but it is nothing that a few clicks of the fast forward button can't fix.
