Summary:

The Second Civil War was fought over reproductive rights. The chilling resolution: Life is inviolable from the moment of conception until age thirteen. Between the ages of thirteen and eighteen, however, parents can have their child "unwound," whereby all of the child's organs are transplanted into different donors, so life doesn't technically end. Connor is too difficult for his parents to control. Risa, a ward of the state, is not talented enough to be kept alive. And Lev is a tithe, a child conceived and raised to be unwound. Together, they may have a chance to escape - and to survive.

So far this book is great! Very interesting. I don't really like the narrator !!! His voice just doesn't give the character emotions!

  • Gary Larsen

great book, didnt like the narrator though- too many attempts at different voices when he should just read it normally. His voice is also very mono toned and not enjoyable to listen to.

HORRIBLE NARRATION! Robotic and flat/mono toned. Books ARE emotion so whrn ur listening to a audio book all the life and feeling is taken when the narrarator is passionless in what their reading. Very disappointing

This was a awesome book and I cannot wait to read the next one. It was full of twists and turns and just awesome.

I listened to this book in a single day. The Dystopian world described is truly twisted. Not a new idea, but telling the story from the point of view of children really added to the tension and horror of it all. I thought the main characters were great and found myself really rooting for them. Unlike some other YA books listened to recently, I really didn't know where this story was going to end up and loved to just be along for the ride. There was plenty of conflict and action. I cannot wait to get my hands, or ears, on UnStrung and UnWholly. Then just a couple months wait for UnSouled, whose cover image makes me shutter at what could be in store.
