Feisty flapper Daisy Dalrymple is a breath of fresh air to the occupants of gloomy Occles Hall in Cheshire, among them her former school chum, wallflower Bobbie Parslow, and the thorny mistress of the manor, Lady Valeria. While photographing the barren ground behind the house, Daisy suspects someone has been digging amidst the soil's first green shoots-and promptly unearths the corpse of Grace Moss, the missing parlor maid. So begins a harrowing romp as the dead woman's shocking secret is revealed.

This is a fun series of books. This is number 2 book in the series. This was a fun "who done it". The narrator keeps you engaged as a listener. The series is set in England during the flapper period. I enjoyed this book. I look forward to the next book.

I enjoyed the actress/reader of this novel, and I got a kick out of the language, "old bean," etc. But the plot is definitely weak--the end is very disappointing.

Storyline is not very believable. Starts off well enough and holds reader's interest but ending is weak and the perpetrator does not have a solid enough reason for actions.
