Richard Ben Sapir(born 1936 inNew York; died 1987) is best known forThe Destroyerseries of novels that he co-created withWarren Murphy. The firstDestroyerwas written in 1963, while Sapir worked as a city hall reporter inJersey Cityand Murphy served as secretary to the city's mayor. Richard Sapir was a graduate ofColumbia Universityand lived with his wife inNew Hampshirebefore he died in 1987 from a heart attack.
