Summary
Is the traditional, accepted view of the life of Christ in some way incomplete?

• Is it possible Christ did not die on the cross?
• Is it possible Jesus was married, a father, and that his bloodline still exists?
• Is it possible that parchments found in the South of France a century ago reveal one of the best-kept secrets of Christendom?
• Is it possible that these parchments contain the very heart of the mystery of the Holy Grail?

According to the authors of this extraordinarily provocative, meticulously researched book, not only are these things possible — they are probably true! so revolutionary, so original, so convincing, that the most faithful Christians will be moved; here is the book that has sparked worldwide controversey.

'Enough to seriously challenge many traditional Christian beliefs, if not alter them.'
— Los Angeles Times Book Review

'Like Chariots of the Gods?...the plot has all the elements of an international thriller.'

As a history nut, the names/dates were very interesting. It is very interesting some of the conclusions they have drawn.

The book has some good information. But it’s quite difficult to follow and believe the arguments the authors present. I entered the book with an open mind, but leaning heavily towards believing their claims. At the end of the book, I’m much more skeptical about the “evidence” the authors presented. They draw vast conspiracies from very flimsy or inferred evidence. This is definitely not a history book. It’s more of a conspiracy theory book disguised as true history.

I found this very interesting and now want to verify some of the information put forward. This is definitely not a novel but more of a historical overview to support the authors hypothesis.

I agree with some of the other comments. Due the the number of names / dates, perhaps READING this material would be beneficial... plus a HUGE chart relating all the names/dates. Interesting topic, but listens like a BBC special (which I gather this is actually from).

An incomprehendable mish-mash of names and dates. The only disc worth listening to is the last one, because it is the only part that gets to the point. I was very disappointed

Sorry! Too much history. It just couldn't keep my attention. I returned it before they spilled the beans on where you can actually look for or "find" the grail.

When you pick this one up, you better be open minded. Otherwise you will hate this book. It is at times hard to follow, because it is read to you and you are not reading it yourself. Their are a lot of French and Latin names thrown at you, that it can get quite confusing. In general it helps if the listener has a background in French or the Latin languages, like Spanish or Italian.

After listening to this book - I believe it would be better to be read - the history reads like a text book - and not an easy listen. Unless you love history skip this book.

Really, really really pathetic. Hours upon hours of "and if this happened, it is reasonable to assume that happened, and if that happened it is obvious that this would have happened because ... " are you kidding me? Ridiculous imagination sprouting from seeds of truth; not a scholarly work as any respected historian would laughingly agree.

This book reads like a textbook not a novel. It is very hard to listen to.

Maybe this could be used by students studying that portion of history. Did not flow very well. Sorry I wasted the time but I did glean a few facts though. I kept waiting for it all to come together.

Don’t waste your time. This poorly written story is made worse by the terrible narrator. If you’re looking for something akin to ‘Angels and Demons’ or ‘Davinci Code,’ don’t stop here.

The one-star rating is well deserved. This book builds a of theories based on not a lot more than conjecture and debateable facts. It could be a useful tool of scholars studying the issues, but for listening on CD, it's very boring. I listen to the works for entertainment as I drive and I would not recommned it for this purpose at all.
