Live the life you've always wanted to live! 100 Ways to Motivate Yourself is packed with techniques for breaking down negative barriers and pessimistic thoughts that prevent you from fulfilling your goals and dreams. It's easy to get stuck in a humdrum life and only fantasize about what 'could have been.' Motivational speaker Steve Chandler helps you change that way of thinking to what 'will be.' His ideas will help you create an action plan for living out your vision. You will be intrigued at some of the real-life experiences upon which Steve has based his techniques-from Arnold Schwarzenegger, who told the author in 1976 that he was going to be the number one box office star in Hollywood (at the time, Arnold was only a body builder with a heavy Austrian accent), to Leonard Nimoy, whose life was reshaped through the rational, logical thought of Spock, the character he played on Star Trek.100 Ways to Motivate Yourself is filled with proven methods for changing the way you think and developing self-creation. Steve draws on the feedback he's received from corporate and public seminar students to ensure that his methods work.

No very informative or useful in any manner. Mostly fluff that doesn't really provide any sort value-added content making the time spent listening worth while.

While I liked the author's tips, the monotone, flat voice he delivered them in was completely counter-productive to learning. I realize that I spent more time fixated on his expressionless voice than I did getting the tips down. Please, re-record the audio with someone like Tony Alessandro...I'll be able to ENJOY listening to it then.

I collected a useable number of tricks that I use to keep me on a path consistent with my goals. This book lists all of those tricks plus many more. At first I thought I would be hearing a dry list of 100 things you could do to stay happy, optimistic, and focused. Indeed, that is really all this is. He doesn't go into depth about any of the 100 ways, but there are a few of them in this list that stand out for me. My wife listened to it and those that stood out for her were very different than mine, which I suppose is the way it should be since we are all different and need different things. I will listen to this again at a later time, and I'm sure to pick up a few other motivational practices that will appeal to me at that time. I can't really call this inspiring, but there are a lot of reminders here about the daily practices we could put into place to keep ourselves motivated and focused on our goals.

Loved this audio book. Kept it for several weeks listening to it in my drive in and drive home. I especially enjoyed how he talks about creating your life vision and "live into it." Also the vision board ideas was great. Completely changed my thinking. Regarding the authors voice, he sounds like a sleepy Harrison Ford, but it's not bad at all, calming really. There are some real motivational gems here, chunked out in 100 easy sections. Highly recommended if you find yourself stuck in a rut or in need of a motivational pick-me-up. Worked for me.

I have already implemented three of the techniques suggested by the author and have found these simple suggestions have already given my life more focus and organization. The authors voice is a tad monotone, but, it was well worth listening to.

Great ideas on how to motivate yourself. Listen 2-3 times just to get all the basics!! A must read for anyone who needs that extra "kick in the behind" to get going.

If you want quick one-liners to motivate you to begin the day on a good note then I recommend this audio. It put me in a positive frame of mind on my commute. Almost think I need to hear about 10 minutes of this each day. Not anything deep but it really does provide some positive material to think on.

Didn't love it. Author's voice was very unmotivating. Found it full of rhetoric, nothing really useful to apply.

I loved this book and found it filled with great ideas and/or reminders. There has been some criticism of the speaker's voice. I think if you stick with it, you will realize that he has a great speaking voice, just not the best reading voice. I give him kudos for this. His voice is not a paper-cutter self-promoting one. All fluff and tired message. His ideas aren't startling, but his sincerity shines through and did more to inspire me than all the pretty platstic preacher-esque reading voices put together. He believes in what he is saying and he doesn't try to spin the way he says it, but on what is being said. Good enough for me.

Chandler has some great ideas on motivation. It's not difficult to get through the 100 tips (2 CDs) but the recording is on 1 track which can be highly annoying. Also, while Chandler (author and narrator) mentions how people call him a great speaker, it was like listening to Ben Stein. But if you can get over the fact that his voice is a de-motivator but his book is a motivator, it's a good one. I will be buying the book to keep and use in other circumstances.

Many of the same items I've heard in the past. However , it was done will.

I am not sure how much good info was contained as the narrator (author) was so boring I could not stand to listen any longer than 20 mins-even though I was stuck in traffic - very disappointing.

  • Robert Weir

BORING! The author claims that he gives successful seminars and has been complemented as a public speaker. That claim is not evident in this recording. He slurs his words, speaks in a monotone voice and should have considered using someone else to read his text which, however, contains little new useful information.

  • Jeff B.

I have no idea if this audio book has any good information in it or not. The author is such an overwhelmingly boring narrator that I could not listen past the first couple of minutes. I thought it was a joke at first but soon realized the whole cd was like this.

  • Anonymous

This book contains many practical and insightful ideas on motivating yourself. I found myself applying what I was learning from the author the same day. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get motivated.

  • Debra Jaggard

The message is good. The speaker leaves a bit to be desired. His description of making himself a good speaker was laughable. Still it was worth the listen. Enough so that I listened twice.

  • Dr Bradley

This was worth listening to .... even the parts I had heard before were presented in an interesting way - repitition is the mother of learning, so the whole thing was worth listening to...

  • Carla

I liked the short story approach that Chandler used in this 2-CD set. You could start and stop the CD rather than listen to it all at once if necessary. It had some interesting stories, applicable circumstances and even some new information that I could use. However, Chandler;s voice irritated me at times. He has a good deep voice, but it sounded like he was "reading" at times - it got a tad monotone.I was also irritated by the female voice that read the title of each section. Why didn't Chandler just read them - it was distracting. For the 100 ways, though, there were a couple that were just repeated with a little different information! I'd say there were about 80 actual different ways!

  • Troy

You're better off getting the book and having a zombie read it to you. The content is pretty good; but the narrator should consider hiring a professional or sticking to making meditation CD's for insomniacs. However, his voice will motivate you to read the actual book to yourself.

  • Richard Howard

This is a excellent book to motivate yourself! I am a better person for listening to it. I am accomplishing more things in my life!

The voice and tone on this audio book was so monotonic and boring. I listened to this book in my car, and almost fell asleep while listening to this. Some of the things in the book make sense, but the tone of voice is not very motivating.

  • Tim in St. Louis

He had some very good ideas, but again......I do not understand why someone who is trying to motivate you, talks in a very monotone and boring voice. It is very hard to keep alert while he is talking.

  • Ben

This cd skips through the junk and gets straight to the good stuff. There is some good advice, even though the author is the most boring, monotone, unmotivated speaker I've ever listened to.

  • Sylvia

There are probably some great ideas in this book, but the author (who narrates) has a terribly monotonous voice.....very UNmotivating. It is very difficult to listen to, which means my brain tunes it out often. If you can get past Mr. Chandler's voice, this has some good ideas!

  • Anonymous

I loved this cd book! It has many thought provoking ideas, and really helped me in bettering my attitude and giving great ideas on how to enrich life!!!!!

  • Brent Farmer

Whoaa. This was very tough to listen through. There were many times that I wanted to turn it off, but I knew that there might be something that I needed to hear. I came away with a few more good ideas, but it was tough. Ironic that the "motivation" was not coming from his voice.

  • Jesus Perez

I have to agree with the prior reviewer. The author's voice is indeed monotonous and boring but the book does offer some excellent tips and suggestions. I walked away with about 20 good ones and for me that's worth it. There really are 100 tips and each is between 1-3 min long and guaranteed to make you think.

  • Anonymous

Some good tips, but the author's monotonous voice nearly put me to sleep while driving. I didn't leave this one feeling motivated.... Just tired.
