Unabridged Audiobook
My review is mainly about the narrators, as it either makes or breaks books for me. Overall the the author created some clever storylines. Book 1 - thoroughly enjoyed the book, particularly the two narrators Shane East - he is talented and his voice especially for the males were excellent, Emma Wilder was fabulous too. Time travel and Scottish Highlanders, whats not to like! Book 2 - oh dear... the authors story was fine, but what a downer after Shane East as narrator. The male voice left me straining my ears at times, Aaron Sherlock needs to both slow down, and not drop his voice so quiet towards end of sentences, not to mention mumbling. There were a few times I cringed with his main character Connor who spoke a little sleazily (not the intention I'm sure) He did better as the story went on. Marion Hussey was quite good Book 3 - A reprieve as Shane East returns to book 3 (as with book 4) as narrator, he truly brings the Scottish warrior alive. A welcome return also was Emma Wilder. Book 4 - Siiri Scott narration was quite wooden and at times sounded like highschool acting, it did get better towards the end. It was my least favourite story line of the four however it did bring the time travellers together for a fitting end. This resolved the four stories cleverly and very well. I will look for the rest of books of this series, particularly with narrator Shane East. I would have given the narrator rating 5 stars if not for Aaron Sherlock and Siiri Scot.
