Unabridged Audiobook
I am extremely happy to have had the opportunity to read it. Beautifully written, touches every aspect on women life in the 60’s and make me realise how behind we still are…highly recommended it.
Glad it was recommended, made me wish that more people were/are as intelligent, strong and self aware (but unselfish) as Elizabeth Zott IRL nowadays. Let's seek them out and celebrate them too.
Strangely realistic and captured the essence of how cultural concepts and not science, formed, and continue to form, the lives of women. This book spoke to my experiences as a woman growing up in the 1950's and 60's and my own attempts to be taken seriously as a scientist. The narrator is also amazing.
Made me laugh out loud and sob too - an incredible tale with an inspirational main character. This is absolutely my book of the year if not decade. Quickly read it before Hollywood gets hold of it.
Fantastic book - a must read/ listen
Nicely narrated and interesting book
Quite likely my favourite reaf of the year!
Absolutely loved it!
loved every minute
Average well written and researched but the feeling it leaves is of superficiality
Love the characters. Especially no bs EZ and the dog 6.30
An amazing book, one you listen to again and again incredibly sad but also full of humour and hope. Looking forward to the series. I know this will be one of my favourite books F
Loved this book! Smart, witty, interesting. I could really relate to this character.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book, based on the title wasn’t sure what to expect. Loved it, would recommend
This book was recomended by bookclub and it was very interesting to read it. Could not stop. Serious facts of a women's life. Loved 6.30 and smart Elizabeth characters.
Struggled to get through this, shame as the story of women's struggle in the 60's could have done with a better champion. Felt like chick lit, poorly researched, and one dimensional.
A wonderful story that made my heart fill with love, sadness, happiness and always wanting to listen to more when I really had other things to do! I loved it. Thank you Bonnie Garmus and Miranda Raison for reciting it so beautifully.
Amazing novel from Bonnie Garmus. Really builds up the story and great subjects covered
This is an excellent book. I will be recommending to people for years. I binge listened and feel lost as to what to listen to next. I hope you enjoy as much as I did!
Loved it! Such an inspiring story of a courageous and intelligent woman set in the 1950's.
Excellent loved it. Great story and characters
I enjoyed everything about this audiobook. As one of only 2 girls in my year 12 Chemistry class and a stay at home mother with girls, this story was very relatable. Elizabeth is inspiring in her strength of conviction while a host of well formed characters and a little rowing create a balanced whole. The clarity, flow and subtle intonation of the speaker made listening a pleasure.
This book is so amazing! I read it completely then bought the audio book to listen to as I read it again, but the narrator is very robotic. Still, the novel is worth the read!
It's a great summer-read. Motivating and inspiring main character.
Please read this book!
Intriguing, strong characters and a lesson in perseverance. A great read.
